Hi James

Apple software as I understand is less prone to Virus attack..

Ipads / Ipods tend not to have Anti-virus software..

When it comes to Network Security I am not too sure.

Dedicated 'Hackers' have equipment that can detect activity on a Public Wi-Fi..

If your e-mail is open they can then 'latch on ' to your account via your IP/MAC address.

Then even if you log out of your e-mail they will still have access.

Whereas Windows PC's will have File Sharing either enabled/disabled.

Apple uses iCloud and iTunes where there may be a security problem once someone has gained access to your device.

Do not know enough about this very sensitive subject.

It was an Android tablet. It was the first time I'd used it on that particular cafe's wi fi system. I think it could have happened anywhere and had much more to do with MY settings and very little to do with the cafe's system. Just a lesson to beware - try to set your device with all the protection it can muster, and that old chestnut, don't use the same password for everything.

    • There has been some movement in the work on the playground but it appears to be to remove the bags of materials that had been placed near the works.
    • You're sounding a bit Reform there aren't you @malumbu Because this time four years ago he, and his party, were calling on voters to do the polar opposite. Actually, I would probably be quite fun on Question Time - you know those sanguine pragmatists who treat all politicians the same and aren't blinded by their own ideology and actually insist on proper answers - one of those pesky floating voters who actually nearly always determine the outcome of elections. @CPR Dave you pointedly show how far-left parties always kill themselves from within - because the rag-tag collection of various fringe groups always leads to one thing - infighting. We all know it won't end well for the Greens.
    • Mal. Yours is a very idealistic portrait of Margaret Thatcher. That’s not the case and I standby what I’ve written.
    • I'm not convinced that BoE calculator tackles house prices. I think it's only goods and services - e.g. I think 465k in 1997 would buy you the same amount of bananas as £929k would now. but it can't include house prices. Or bitcoins or shares or other investments.
