pommie
we are going to south Africa in September and our youngest will be 18 months old. She will probably not need a lot of bottles but just wondered how people went around the milk situation. She is currently on cows milk so just wondered how you can get milk on the plane and obviously it wont keep cold on the plane either. Also does anyone know if the airline will warm milk up for you on the plane if you need it Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/34917-flight-to-south-africa-with-18-month-old/ Share on other sites
alieh
Every airline I've been on is happy to fill a bottle with regular milk on the flight. Most times they don't have a microwave but will warm it in boiling water if you want. I would hope whoever you're flying to SA would be the same! Pickle
Yes, on flights to NZ when our kids have been on one/two bottles of cows milk a day, the airline have been happy to oblige. Jo'sEnglish
I just took a bottle of milk through in one of those bottle chiller thingys. Security nowhere minded, although I think Heathrow made me taste it. I asked the airline and they said they should have milk on board but they preferred you to bring your own. It depends how long you need it to stay cold for and how warm you want it. I just took it out of the chiller bag a while before I needed it so it was room temp before he had it (but he's not too fussy as long as it is not too cold). Gooders79
We've normally taken a couple of bottles of premise formula with us, ours quite liked the novelty too. Convex
I have found that my bottles tend to leak, so if you do take you own I'd advise not pouring it into the bottles until ready to drink. You might have better bottles than me though!
