jazzer
Are you going to have wardens on duty to clear the roads in the event of the police, fire brigade or ambulance service need to use the road to deal with any incident a resident may have???????? Cyclemonkey
Yes. There is very clear guidance from the Council in the link posted by the OP. Seriously do you people never organise or do anything? 1 1 2 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/349351-world-car-free-day-22nd-sept-street-party-play-street-in-east-dulwich/page/3/#findComment-1676145 Share on other sites

Supposing there is a good turnout, you just know this will be spun as overwhelming support for Southwark's car/street plans. It never crossed my mind. You do have a habit of trying to force your theories onto others and presenting them as facts. We had a closed street day here a few years ago. It was a success, fun, well attended and was never weaponised to push anything. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/349351-world-car-free-day-22nd-sept-street-party-play-street-in-east-dulwich/page/3/#findComment-1676163 Share on other sites
first mate
I don't think I have forced anything, just expressed an opinion and, also relayed what Southwark Council have said. As for whether the Council spin their call for world car free day/ street closures for fun and play, let's wait and see. We've closed the street for a party for a number of years, just not before as a call to action by the Council. You said-- you just know this will be spun as overwhelming support for Southwark's car/street plans-- I don't just know. It never crossed my mind until you made the assertion. 16 hours ago, jazzer said: Are you going to have wardens on duty to clear the roads in the event of the police, fire brigade or ambulance service need to use the road to deal with any incident a resident may have???????? Organisers' responsibilities a formal risk assessment is not required, but you should think about what could go wrong and plan accordingly; major things to consider are: fire, bad weather, electricity and vehicles entering, leaving and remaining within the area of your road closure to close the road, barriers will be provided by FM Conway (subject to availability) during the week before the party organisers are responsible for putting these into place to close the road at the agreed time a clear route, at least 4 metres wide, must remain along the entire length of the road closure for emergency vehicle access 1 2 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/349351-world-car-free-day-22nd-sept-street-party-play-street-in-east-dulwich/page/3/#findComment-1676201 Share on other sites
