Tuffstuff100
Can anyone explain to me why the council has not implemented any (at least I can't find any) recycling bins on lordship lane? Seems sad given many places to get food and few places to put recyclable items. I've had to take wrapping back home as can find any recycle bins! KalamityKel
There used to be some near the traffic lights at the junction of North Cross Road for paper, plastic, glass etc. Think these used to move from time to time to nearer Shawbury Road 🤷♀️ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/349487-lordship-lane-recycle-bins/#findComment-1676180 Share on other sites
sunbob
Until a few years ago there were large public ones on Peckham rye common in the old car park;they were removed well before the development of the new playground. There are less street bins as well. I would think it's to cut costs by having less bin locations to collect from. Nigello
I noted the absence of those large bins opposite M and S a while back and now think that maybe they’re no longer there because householders/businesses were leaving their rubbish there and/or using them as their own bins. I have to say, though, I’ve not seen an increase in litter and actually think that the council does a reasonably good job in this regard.
