Agreed and I thought Steve Bruce, who I like as a manager, was less than gracious when he stated that the corner that led to our second goal was never a corner. I agree but what about the 3 stone wallers the ref missed Steve?

Like I said earlier - the signs were there*. Now I expect we'll buy some big strong lads to keep a clean sheet, get rid of Morrison (talent equals trouble)... oh, and get another someone to cross balls in for Carroll.


Plan A. Route 1. Same as last year, we were just unlucky, fans should be glad of someone of Sam's experience, never been relegated, unfairly maligned, no such thing as West Ham style, I'd be England manager if i was foreign... blah blah blah

Regretably these days fans view and wishes seem to be either ignored to viewed with disdain, I think it's fair to say most Prem clubs are much of a muchness in that respect. Very sad and soul destroying.

Slightly undermined by them also saying "We should also stress, though, that while improvements do need to be made, Sam deserves credit for the job he has done thus far" and "our impressive record of 14 clean sheets last season."


Makes me wonder if Allardyce hasn't convinced them that clean sheets are more important than entertainment and a top 10 finish is all that counts. The sub-text is that the man has a year left on a contract that these short-sighted porn merchants (it makes you blind) don't want to have to pay compo for terminating. It's all about the cash.


If he keeps Morrison (?3.75m to flog him the Swansea!? Come on!) that will show that a hyena can at least try and change his spots. Not holding my breath though.

My contempt for the modern day footballer plumbed new depths yesterday with the story that broke regarding Yaya "birthday boy" Toure. If you want more money say so, if you want to leave, say so. Don't make up some weak, pathetic excuse about not being loved, respected yada yada yada. Despicable, the guy earns more than the dreams of avarice and more in a week than most earn in 5 or 6 years. Obscene

I reckon Hansen was pushed. He didn't like Shearer taking his spot as gobbiest pundit and would constantly talk over him and anyone else. Either he left because his ego got in the way, or he was told to leave.


Of course I have absolutely no proof of that, but that's my gut instinct about it.

Hansen was just too out of touch - the world has moved on a lot from when he played though that is nearly true of Sheerah too.


I'd like to see Gobby Savage give vent on MOTD more and would LOVE to see an outsider allowed to regularly express a fan's opinion. Someone with a passion for but no ties to the game - like Chiles used to be when he first started MOTD2 or Colin Murray who annoyed the buggery out of the ex-pros by criticising their friends (Hansen once told him to leave the analysis to the experts); just somebody who would not be afraid of upsetting old mates or biting the football hand that feeds them.

      Rather than zero tolerance, a term I should have not used, I should have referred to crime,  No crime (excluding some things which really should not be criminalised) should be tolerated (albeit the reaction to a naughty 13 year old will be different to a violent criminal, and similarly those with mental health issues there will be some flexibility), I' was talking zero crime, which is impossible. New York was vastly improved, what happened to that wonderful Giuliani chap? US is not a role model of course, homicides per head dwarf the UK; the damage that white flight and the desolation of inner cities that happened to  many places such as Baltimore, Washington DC and Detroit is difficult to turn round Much rather move this debate to the Lounge!

      The quarterly SNT Police Meetings are advertised on EDF - the one Beansprout mentions, is  Dulwich Hill. The team have been short  staffed for a number of months as one officer was injured trying to arrest a shoplifter - unfortunately the shoplifter got away but the officer was left with fractures. We regularly see one or two of the police team around the Dulwich Hill area (they were recently in Landells Road)  Dulwich Hill SNT are hoping to resume their Cuppa with a Copper sessions but are frequently asked to support colleagues policing the various protest marches.  The next Dulwich Hill SNT meeting is scheduled for December (date to be confirmed) The attack on the young woman would come under the Goose Green SNT.
