Which ever team you follow, he was a great player. Such shame about his previous drink problem.

Was just poor bad luck, we were miles the better team. A bit frustrating that without two injury time goals in our games against Utd and Spuds(actually 3 if you include your winner at UP) we'd be 4 (5) points better off and in the hunt still...

I wouldn't say you were miles better. I thought a draw was a fair result. Take heart though, you played very well and are a much better side without Carroll and Nolan in the starting Xl. Reid, Cresswell and Noble were all excellent today though Noble was a bit lucky not to have got sent off for a second bookable offence.

One thing is puzzling me though... Lamela is just not doing it for me. He needs to improve 100-per-cent. Out of all our substitutions today he more than anyone needed to go off. Though I must say Demb?l? was also rubbish today and was rightly substituted at half-time.

as everyone in the World knows, except on fella,,,who happens to be our manager ;(

It's not that long ago that Carroll was selected for England. And I know that doesn't mean BFS uses him in the way England intended to.

I think it's ok to play Carroll in Plan B football but I'd not want him in my starting team each week. Footballers are generally dumb (slight joke) and if they see a big target man they will use him even if it's not the manager or BFS instructions.

John Toshack was used primarily to knock the ball down to Keegan. Many plaudits and a trophy or two followed.

We are getting rather snobbish about how our football is played.

of course , a few clubs like West Ham and Celtic can say they always saw it thus. :) There are a few more to add to those two of course. Spurs pass and move probably.

He probably didn't want to go on tour with him either to be fair.

    • £30-40 for M&S Christmas food for two seems very low! And only £60 for food and drink for 8-10 people?  We have had M&S food at Christmas in the past, and it came to a lot more than that. I suppose it depends exactly what you are buying. We left it late to book a Christmas Day meal out last year, so there weren't many options left.  The Cherry Tree menu looked very nice. That was our first mistake. We also overlooked the fact that it was a Young's pub, with all that implies about the food. That was our second mistake. We don't have shedloads of money. We  took the view that we deserved a nice meal  out after working bloody hard all year. So it was doubly disappointing to basically waste a lot of money which could have been very much better  spent elsewhere.
    • No sweetheart. It is a fantastic sermon which should be shared. It is a rights-based sermon which received a standing ovation - if you can be bothered to get to the end.
    • Welcome back. What have voting intentions got to do with this thread? And much as you may hate the present incarnation of so-called Labour, as do I,  I don't think it is true that they have "not done a single positive thing for working class people", is it? And how exactly are you defining "working class people", anyway?
    • I can’t bear the media “is this racist comment racist” angle taken to reporting it. I feel like she’s a useful out rider for Farage to test how far they can take their rhetoric - it’s not the first time she’s said things that cross over the line. Overt racism is becoming far more commonplace and it’s deeply concerning.
