Alan Medic
I watched United v City and was utterly bored by the game. Why Rooney is being played as a CF is beyond me as it appears to be for him. Alan Medic
Mourinho behaved like a brat when interviewed after the game. He chose not to answer any question which begs the question why he bothered to appear in front of the cameras. Trevor Francis in commentary declared he has lost the players. Michael Owen also in commentary said nothing of interest. Big result for Liverpool. Given Costa should have been sent off it wasn't worthy of a professional team to try and have Lucas sent off. Mick Mac
Eurosport.com .....WHAT THIS MEANS FOR RANGERS - 'OLD' AND 'NEW'Depending upon further appeals, in purely sporting terms, this decision means there must be a huge question mark placed over trophies the 'old' Rangers won while the EBT system was in place between 2001 and 2010 before the 'old' Glasgow club was liquidated in 2012. HMRC are claiming around ?46.2m of unpaid tax from Murray's time as owner. The term 'financial doping' has been used in relation to the use of EBTs. Scottish titles, Scottish Cups and Scottish League Cups were all won as well as qualification for the Champions League and UEFA Cup while avoiding paying tax on players' earnings. Otta
If they strip them of those titles that would be disgusting. The players won them, and the players weren't fiddling the books. And if I were a Celtic supporter I wouldn't want them, they'd be false titles. Bit like the guys that finished second to Lance Armstong. Bet they don't feel deep down that they actually won those tours. red devil
I dunno about that Ots. The Rangers players (we presume) were innocent, oblivious to what was going on, whereas Armstrong knew exactly what he was doing. Then again, half the Tour was doped up, so he was probably the best regardless... Otta
Oh he knew what he was doing, I'm just saying that the blokes who came second PROBABLY don't honestly feel like they won it with hindsight. I notice that whilst he was stripped, the titles were not given to others. The players knew they were getting tax free money - that was promised to them in side letters on signing for the club - without that they wouldn't have come to Scotland, I'm sure. It was always amazing to Celtic fans how Rangers attracted the players they did, and its now clear. I don't want them to lose the titles, couldn't care less really - but I do want them to lose the tax case, and for everyone to accept that it was wholly and knowingly wrong - everyone in tax knew it was wrong, its fraud. Alan Medic
I'm not going to record it as I find it a bit sick having a programme about the death of George Best. Channel 5. Otta
Hmm, certainly SOUNDS a bit ghoulish. But maybe it's more a look at why he couldn't help himself, which I think would be a valid programme (with a bad name). Mick Mac
I went to see Ireland lose to Scotland a year ago at Celtic Park and I'd have said they had no chance of qualifying based on their performance that night.I was wrong and they have played very well since that night. Many here (Otta?) said the O Neill Keane combo would end in tears but to be fair they have managed to get an limited pool of players to the final. Jah Lush
What a cracking performance from Deli Alli tonight on his full debut. It seems every time he takes a step up in class he handles it with aplomb, no bother. That's some player we've got here and he can only get better. I'm so happy he's a Spurs player. red devil
Difficult to come to any conclusions based on last night's game, the French were only there in body. But he definitely looks a great prospect. Great pre-match tributes to the Paris victims... We're building a strong young side with the emphasis on young home grown talent (several of whom were in last night's England squad) and it's good that we are finally backing our manager in his vision. I like what Pochettino is doing at Spurs and though we've drawn a few games too many we're still unbeaten since the opening day loss to Man Utd, a game we could and should have won.The second of three London derbies on the spin coming up on Saturday. Should be quite tasty. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/35029-football-focus/page/228/#findComment-927480 Share on other sites
