You've been dire most of the season. Awful to watch. Desperately dull. Still, you won't be complaining if you win the Europa League.. but you won't. I'd be very surprised if Man Utd won anything this season.

Indeed Jah. I don't think it was lost on Utd fans that on a night when we were commemorating IMO the best player to ever wear a Utd shirt, that we should put on such an inept, uninspired, lacklustre performance, bereft of any pace, skill, daring, bravery, imagination, all things you would associate with Georgie. About a year ago LVG was asked about this so-called philosophy of his. He mentioned that players had to learn their role on the pitch, that they were only allowed to play in certain areas, do certain things with the ball. Over time this would become automatic, second nature, he didn't want them to think about what they had to do, they just did it. He didn't want them to play with any intuition, nothing off-the-cuff, no free spirit. Well, he's definitely succeeded on that account. So far the fans have accepted or put up with the dross because of the mess he inherited. The club needed a strong character to sort out the deadwood and a respected manager to attract quality players. But unless there are signs of an improvement in the quality of play, the fans' patience won't last forever...

Saw him twice including my first ever visit to UP....also in the US, where he was still brilliant when he could be bothered

Yep, I'm saying he is respected, especially abroad, which is important if you want to attract good foreign players. Moyes didn't have that presence, basically the club was too big for him and ate him alive. You'll have the same problem when Wenger retires, big boots to fill...

If they play like that I wouldn't want them to win anything.

ASimilar problem for Brendan Rogers. Plyers much more likely to want to come and play for Klopp than Rogers (more so if we can get top 4).

Are you... *feels faint*... suggesting Doc... *staggers towards ornately carved Viennese resting saddle*... that the way a team plays... *gasps, can barely get it out*... is more important than just... *near collapse now*... winning?!?

Hope you survived maxxi. I may have said that. If only BFS hadn't gone to Wonderland he might have been able to save us. Relegation beckons and a 6 pointer against Leicester looms. I hope I can stay awake as last night I gave up a good hours sleep to watch that dross.

You noticed. Are you suggesting I go a bit quiet on here when results against certain teams aren't great? :)

To be fair, maxxi has been fairly quiet in general since absconding to Vienna.

I reckon I post more when Utd lose or, like tonight, when I've had to endure another fooking bore draw.

LVG has managed to clone Ray Wilkins...9 fooking times. Only De Gea and Martial play on the front foot...I despair

I'll respond belatedly - saw game over here and we were outplayed by TH for large parts of the game. Obviously miss Payet and lacked a finish to some promising moves; defence still a slight panicky tendency but I wasn't totally dismayed.

Do think Walker is a dirty despicable c*nt though*.

*This opinion may be subject to a certain amount of bias - but he's still a c*nt.

    • I'm guessing they're busy. I found out just now that the SNT has tracked down the kids who attacked my dog, had strong words with their parents, and the gang has now broken up. I got a lot of detail, which I won't go into here, but it sounds as if they were also quite compassionate towards some of the kids, who came from less than optimal backgrounds, shall we say.  I know that those kids had nothing to do with the attack of the man in August and that they are also aware of the fireworks problem. Sounds like good community policing.
    • I'd rather go to actual local Safer Neighbourhood Team meetings and see the whites of their eyes.  Ours in Peckham Rye Park ward (maps of areas the ward covers are on the police website; no idea about the new one!) used to be very well attended, but sadly now not so.  The local police of the SNT seem to change far too regularly so they never have a chance to really know the area and the people.  And the last meeting, held at the Tenants Hall of Brenchley Gardens (so right on the edge of the geographical area), was held with one day's notice.  Not good.
    • Friends of Peckham Rye Park sent emails to its members (do join if you can; it's useful) saying a few nights ago a fire was started on the SE22 side of the park by kids with fireworks.  Horrific.
    • No One Said It  Was  However spending money you haven't got and increasing national debt is not a great way to run a country now is it ? Or has common sense left you 🤔
