Utter dire stuff yet again beaten by a crap team with no confidence 1-0, I bet all the bottom 3 wish they still had us to play....I think we'll stay up probably but I can't see the Fat walrus surviving under any circumstances now. And good riddance to him, and to be frank, hopefully half of his shite signings with him. I can't see anything but a big struggle for us next year without a major investments and new ideas, a shite bag of a season....
.I don't think we'd be safe with him Maxxi.I think we'll get relegated! Everyone's sussed out his one dimensional tactics, the players are completely demoralised with them, the fans will be on his back from game 1, the 37 points that we'll probably stay up with this year would normally have us relegated. Listening to other teams players on MOTD last night saying 'you know what you are going to get with West Ham" like we are foooking Wimbledon in the 80s is depressing beyond belief for our club and its traditions. I want the fat turd out today - he's a sh1tbag as a human as well as manager.

Yeah even I cringed when I heard that, and thought your blood would be boiling.

And Hansen (again) saying "if you ask them would they rather play football the way it should be played in the Championship or play THAT way in the Premier league, they'll take Premier league every time" Then - almost as if he's starting to get it - "but I'm not a West Ham fan."

Agree we wouldn't be safe with Allardyce but that was his usp for Sullivan & Gold and my fear is they'll put this year down to Carroll's injury and a mistake in the transfer market and a bit of bad luck and think he is STILL the best tw*t for the job.

The slip meant nothing, his touch gave it away and I don't think he'd have rescued it anyway, but he bloody tried to make amends.

S'pose I have to take hat off to Chelsea for doing what they do well (parking a double decker bendy bus), but gutted. Didn't really expect a win but really hoped we'd get the draw.

Fingers crossed City will drop 2 points now!!!

I have felt for years that Gerrard is overrated and today I felt that he didn't show up. I questioned his performance recently against Sunderland when they came back at Liverpool and I think he could have done more today Liverpools big players didn't turn up with Coutino being the exception. Edited to add Stirling and Skirtel were also up for it

What Liverpool were missing today was a backbone. They have been poor in defence for ages but they have just managed to outscore their opposition. As soon as they came up against a solid defence or tatician they were always going to be found out.

To slate Gerrard is just insulting, he's been the backbone of Liverpool for such a long time, completely out of order to criticise due to one human error , slipping over...that will probably haunt him forever if they don't win the league (which admittedly is looking unlikely now). Chelsea tactically as always played an amazing game but anyone who would prefer to see 6 defenders and time wasting win the league instead of great to watch attacking football that Man City and Liverpool play, doesn't really love the game.

Liverpool have risen to every challenge since Christmas, incl Arsenal, United, City and all the others. It had to come to an end.

There may yet be another twist.

Most football supporters just want their teams to win. Or certainly not lose. If you are going to play expansive football you had better make sure you score more goals than the opposition. It is anyone that thinks Chelsea or anyone else with any tatical nous is going to go up to Anfield and try and play attacking football just so you lot can be entertained that either doesn't know footbball or indeed doesn't love the game for what it is. If you want to be entertained go to the opera or the cinema.

I'm sorry Mick Mac, we have to agree to disagree on this one. The number of times Gerrard has pulled the team through with performance and leadership in my opinion has contributed to Liverpool finishing well above where we expected this season and many others. No player has a great game every match, look at Suarez who has been exemplary all season but the last three matches hasn't really done a lot. What SG does is inspire team performances and I genuinely think he is the heart of the club.

Millhaven, if you look at my comment, I did give credit to Chelsea for being fantastic tactically as always but in my opinion it just feels soulless. By my upset today of Liverpool losing and the awful behaviour of the Chelsea supporters at the game persisting with Hillsborough chants (when no other club does) I've broken my rule of not commenting on this thread...so signing off now!

    • The original post was made by someone else, not the person whose post I was replying to! And the original post only mentioned Whateley Road (which has been clear of leaves whenever I have walked down it) and another unspecified road. My question was directed at CPR Dave, who (as was clear in the post I quoted)  said "The streets round here are a disgrace".
    • We had a delivery from Matoom last week. Sadly, as I had high expectations, especially as it wasn't cheap, I was underwhelmed. To start off with  positives, the corn cake starter was ok, and my partner said his green curry and coconut rice was tasty. I  (unadventurous I know but I wanted to do a direct comparison with Chern Thai) had Pad Thai (with tofu and veg). There was a lot of it, which was good. So much that I had half of it cold for breakfast the next morning. However, it was almost completely noodles, with hardly any veg or tofu. In fact there was so little tofu I don't actually remember eating any.  I do remember thinking that the stirred in egg must be some kind of tofu. I'm wondering now whether they were busy and forgot the tofu altogether! As it didn't come with peanuts (which I knew in advance as they weren't mentioned on the menu) I ordered a peanut sauce (?) separately, though I can no longer see this on the online menu. This didn't really help much taste wise  For comparison, we both had Pad Thai for lunch yesterday (Saturday) at Chern Thai, with gyoza to start. The Pad Thai was fantastic, good sized portions with lots of tofu and several different kinds of  really fresh lightly cooked vegetables.  The gyoza were also excellent, just the right amount of crispiness and with a good amount of dipping sauce. The meal  was also very well priced. I realise it's not very fair to directly compare the price of delivered dishes to dishes from  an eat-in lunch menu, but in terms of overall value it was much better. And the service was lovely. In case our Matoom delivery  was a one off glitch, we will book a table and eat in there, but so far I am disappointed. ETA: Just realised this thread is about BYO. Chern Thai used to be solely BYO, but it now has a full drinks menu with Thai beer on draught and  wine. You can still BYO, but there is a charge. We had jasmine tea, which was very nice.
    • Hi Angelina - whilst I’m not close enough to this decision (as a candidate not a councillor), I would hope there will be public consultation if this situation arises again next year. As a local resident, I will push for this, if I do become a councillor. Hello - I will ask for this to be updated as soon as possible, as I appreciate people will be looking for this info!
