Sue
Yet again I wonder if anyone else has what seems to be some kind of bug (Covid test negative). Runny nose on and off for over a week, stuffy head, feeling tired and low energy and a bit crap and a bit headachy and dizzy, but no other cold symptoms. Just me? Jenijenjen
I've been feeling the same on and off for the past week and have put it down to the muggy weather and thundery atmosphere. Feeling much much better after last night's rain. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351335-bug-going-round/#findComment-1680387 Share on other sites
Azalea
New Covid strains are around and not picked up by a Covid test. Wear a good mask when you go out. Glad for you, but I feel worse today! 😭 A friend of mine just told me on Facebook he has been feeling like this on and off for SIX WEEKS 😭 2 hours ago, Azalea said: New Covid strains are around and not picked up by a Covid test. At least I'm sort of glad to hear it's something going around, it's a bit worrying when you don't know what's wrong. SpringTime
Forget five a day. Try ten. Three litres of water per day. Ventilate your residence as much as you can. Cold shower in the morning. Spend as much time as possible outdoors. Hopefully you'll get better x 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351335-bug-going-round/#findComment-1680472 Share on other sites
Castleton
I had pressure headaches for a couple of weeks until the cold finally came out. Exacerbated by weird bloating and feeling nausea, thankfully a friend also had similar otherwise I'd have worried more. Treated myself to some night nurse, rarely do that Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/351335-bug-going-round/#findComment-1680485 Share on other sites

Sue
Thanks both. I have heard of some people where a Covid test wasn't positive until several days after symptoms started. Also it did belatedly occur to me that some of the symptoms eg the dizziness were similar to the first time I got Covid, shortly after the first lockdown. But it's a bit pointless sticking a label on it, it's clearly some virus. Commiserations to everyone else who has it. Let's hope we all recover quickly! NewWave
Where I work virtually everyone has fallen ill with a sort of nausea/bloating bug with flu-ish symptoms. Sue
Oh great. Now I appear to have practically lost my voice (some people may think this is a good thing). Last time I had blood tests, my GP told me to stop taking vitamin tablets. But thanks for your concern! I appreciate the advice, but I only came on here to see if other people had similar symptoms! I'm still ill and feeling sorry for myself. Can't have my flu and Covid jabs till I'm over this effing bug. I've already postponed the Flu jab I had booked. I have been out briefly a couple of times but my symptoms keep coming and going, and now I feel rubbish and have retired to bed again. However I'm very grateful it isn't worse. I know there are a lot of people much worse off than me. I'm tucked up under a duvet with a radiator on and a pile of books. Commiserations to everyone else who is ill at the moment. ianr
They're using both Spikevax (Moderna) and Pfizer ones this time, but say individuals don't have any choice (though I don't think that necessarily precludes their choosing to override specified practice if you give them good reason). When I was looking around for the basic information -- https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/ easily found via https://nhs.uk -- I didn't get round to finding who they'll give which to. It will be there somewhere. Look maybe for something on the technical side for practitioners and administrators, like the Green Book. ETA: More info here about the JCVI vaccine recommendations, though even there I can't see anything definite re the over-18s. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-autumn-2024-vaccination-programme-jcvi-advice-8-april-2024/jcvi-statement-on-the-covid-19-vaccination-programme-for-autumn-2024-8-april-2024 .A rash guess would be that the Moderna one would be chosen, as easier to manage, and possibly cheaper. But I see that there too you get pointed to the Green Book. ETA PS: I see that in November 23 I was given the Pfizer one, at a pharmacy, so no more guesses from me.
