It all went pretty smoothly.If you think you need one, don't go for one of these companies that specialise in helping you buy your flat, as they may have a solicitor but they'll charge you loads on top. DulwichFox Posted August 11, 2013 Share Posted August 11, 2013 I would not advise proceeding without a solicitor... ... unless you understand clearly what you liabilities are with regards to any major building works that may be needed. ...People have been hit with unexpected bills of Thousands of pounds to repair roofs, lifts, rewiring... which council tenant in the same block would not be charged for. ...These charges may not be covered by your annual ground rent.
