Christmas Turkey

I know it is early, but it is my first Christmas in the Dulwich area so I want to have a place in mind...which butchers sells free-range / Kelly Bronze turkeys?

Any advice ould be greatly appreciated, thanks.

William Rose on Lordship Lane (opposite Franklins) will be able to get you pretty much anything you need. Also there are people on here (Guy being one) who go to Smithfield and Billingsgate markets on a weekly basis so they could pick you up one too.

I Could also pick turkeys up for people this year from Smithfield market did a few last year for mainly customers of mine.

I had a Kelly bronze from William Rose last year and it was the most delicious turkey I've ever had (I did do the cooking mind lol!) - I'd highly recommend.

Hi . Obviously I will be going.. but looking forward to my summers hols first.!:) Pheasants and grouse have just hit smithfield... lets enjoy them first.

Wasn't there a little ill feeling with William Rose a while back where it was reported that they only accepted orders for Christmas meat from regular customers?

No not stirring just wondering whether this idea/way of operating has changed? Anyone?

Yes, this happened to us many years ago now, It really put me off. That said, I'm now a regular customer there, and the service is great.

I do find that irritating when they only sell Christmas turkeys to regular customers; I would have popped in there to see what they were like, but I cannot afford to become a butcher's "regular" customer so probably won't bother now and look elsewhere.
