Favourite's towering extractor had been bothering me for some time (we could even hear it through our double glazing) so I had a word with them and they immediately agreed to get it serviced and cleaned which was surprisingly neighbourly of them. Seems way quieter now.

Buoyed by the prevailing community spirit, I thought I'd move onto the owners of the huge aircon units on the roof of Foxtons, ask them to screen them in and maybe lessen their industrial impact on all our houses. Do people think this would be worth doing? Do they bother anyone else? Does anyone know who the landlord is there?

Hi worldwiser,

Good for you.

I also have some casework from residents about Faviorute Chicken with environmental officers visiting them about the noisy extractor fan.

Foxtons. Please do have a chat with them. If they don't fix it and it's causing you a nuisance tell me and I will work to get it fixed. We've had a number of such successes over the years along Lordship Lane for residents.

Seems like the noise is back - I'll try and prevail upon them one last time and then I might come back to you. The environmental officers don't seem interested in making an appointment, you have to take your chances one evening to call them out and, if they're busy, they won't come.

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
