  1. I?m curious. The demand for nursery places in ED is off the charts which is going to have to be met somehow, some day. There are local nurseries with literally hundreds on their waiting lists. Exactly where would this vital provision go if not here? The nursery we used was very successful in persuading people not to use their cars, and that was well before the nightmare of road closures happened. There is no way anyone is going to want to drive to this location at drop off and pick up times unless forced at gunpoint so I genuinely cannot see what the issue is.
  2. There?s a remote camera high up on a post outside the Foxtons on the corner of Crawthew shrine. Not sure who owns it, but worth finding out..
  3. I once took an injured sparrow to Neighbourhood Vets after it flew straight into our french windows. Took it down there in a shoebox, they sorted him out and let him go. Just to quash unpleasant rumours about vets killing animals.. because clearly that's why they took up the profession?!
  4. I constantly wonder why people don't realise that it's not that places like Franklins are expensive. It's more that other places are outrageously cheap and have allowed people to believe incorrectly that their prices are fair to the planet and everyone in the chain. Very sorry to hear this news - wish the staff much luck.
  5. Jeez, we rented a ground floor flat in that building for a month in Jan 2016. Just two months before they condemned it!
  6. The nursery we were with had a waiting list of 300 people when we left last month. You basically need to put your name down when you conceive. Yes, there are that many babies. Quality nursery provision is nowhere near required levels in the area.
  7. Vitally important she gets the vaccine.
  8. Crystal Palace Market is doing it right. Cordoned the whole thing off and controlling entry. Bit of a queue getting in but greatly improved safety. No reason NXR couldn't do something similar.
  9. If you're west of LL, you'll probably get one. If you're east you won't. They've done a bang up job of dividing the area right into two. That and created havoc with their closing of a dozen roads in a child-like experiment to see what happens when you halve the available space for traffic flow. And after they inexplicably carpeted the area with unnecessary yellow lines to reduce parking spaces by 10%. Why would Southwark have a user-friendly website when they are clearly the community's sworn enemy? Good luck living here.
  10. Wow. Extraordinary in-depth journalism there. Barely a single paragraph. I got more insight from MarkT! They might have interviewed the owner or something, anything..
  11. I've been going to the OKR Recycling centre for 10 years and there's always been a cardboard section there. In fact it's the first one you come to!
  12. Not much considering the price of the skip/ removal van crew/large delivery you need it for. Versus the excess cost of all those things when you can't legitimately get them close to your home.
  13. While excessive use of bins is hardly going to make you popular, there really is no alternative on busy streets when you're expecting a skip, removal van or heavy deliveries. The council will not give you official permission to block a space unless it's a suspendable bay or you're a utility. That's another privilege people in the CPZ get.
  14. I think when this whole godforsaken mess is over people will be dying for group shared experiences so if cinemas and venues can hang in there long enough, the future could be pretty bright.
  15. Most reliable sources show Tenet having done extremely well. Especially in the UK so I don't know why people are saying otherwise.
