We had the roof on our Victorian terrace replaced in 2023 and were charged just under £12,000, which included new slates, battens, breathable membrane, leadwork, and scaffolding. The cost was mainly due to the complexity of working on an older property and ensuring everything met current building standards.

i think I paid like 10 when doing it with my loft conversion but that was back in 2022 when the materials were crazily priced

£14,000 last year which included £500 for scaffolding.

That scaffolding seems like good value. Was it up for long and did it just go up to line of the gutters.?

Because of the weather which delayed completion with roofer only being able to work certain days, it was up from November - end of January. Went slightly higher than gutters (we also had guttering replaced).

We just had to have a fair bit of roofing done, along with new guttering and facia replacement (swapping out wooden for pvc) Also chimneys needed repointing & had problems with a large roof light.

we didn’t know why we had damp in certain parts of the living room & turns out water was getting in via damaged chimneys.

we ended up using vintage roofing and building ltd, & have to say they did a great job, scaffolding went up and work started straight away, they were pleasant & respectful of our property, & tidy.

they showed us videos of the damage before starting work, & of the work after it was completed. And we have a 20 year guarantee.
