Rockets
...so thought it might be interesting to post it here....#donshardhat.... https://www.londoncentric.media/p/london-transport-explained-in-nine-graphs-and-charts 9. Cycling is more popular after the pandemic but is still a niche form of transport. Cycling boomed in the pandemic, aided by the rush to invest in bike lanes and low-traffic neighbourhoods, which has pushed the number of bike journeys up by a quarter to 1.33 million journeys per day. Yet the overall picture is more mixed. Cycling remains a fairly niche way of getting around the capital compared to buses and the tube, while previous TfL research has shown it’s a mode of transport largely used by teenagers (who are short on cash and can’t legally drive) or older, richer, white men. Shaking the perception that it’s for those two demographic groups — potentially by embracing the ability of rental e-bikes such as Lime and Forest to entice new demographics into cycling — will be key to moving the dial. Earl Aelfheah
The latest data shows the number of daily cycle journeys in London has increased again on 2023, hitting an estimated 1.33 million journeys per day (up 26% since 2019). To put it in perspective, that's equivalent to about a third of all daily Tube journeys. That makes it a fairly mainstream mode of mass transport imo. malumbu
Perhaps the various threads covering the same stuff can be amalgamated. This is becoming like groundhog day. 2 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/355699-someone-posted-this-in-the-lounge/#findComment-1693267 Share on other sites
Earl Aelfheah
One poster in particular does like to keep creating more and more of them on ostensibly the same topic 🤔 Edited January 10 by Earl Aelfheah 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/355699-someone-posted-this-in-the-lounge/#findComment-1693283 Share on other sites
DulvilleRes
That poster declines to answer any questions that might help solve the mystery of the disappearance of local Conservatives when it comes to fronting up local concerns about traffic issues. They used to be all over it, but now they are nowhere to be seen, apart from popping up now and then to ask official questions of the council that overwhelmingly overlap the issues One Dulwich and anti LTN posters on these threads raise. Could it be that the Conservative Undead are stalking these threads? Could a desire to stoke up a spurious culture war around traffic issues that might have electoral advantages be a motive for multiple topics? It could of course all be co-incidental, but until these well informed on local politics posters start providing some transparency, we may never know. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/355699-someone-posted-this-in-the-lounge/#findComment-1693299 Share on other sites
Rockets
Is that poster me? Are you accusing me of being the "Conservative Undead"? Ha ha, laughable if you are and, once again, probably skirting very close to admin's rules. Perhaps more importantly, am I not allowed to create posts - it is a forum after all and surely the whole point of a forum is people post and then interest in the subject determines whether the thread continues? What actually seems to be happening is people create posts and a couple of other posters try to shut down the discussion as they don't like the content. The whole point about forums is topics are self-policing - if people are interested the content finds itself to the top. Maybe if you're the people who love to argue about everything then maybe ask what impact that is having on where that topic appears on the forum....#justsaying Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/355699-someone-posted-this-in-the-lounge/#findComment-1693329 Share on other sites

Or one poster can just keep creating multiple posts on effectively the same topic, to ensure that no other debate gets heard Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/355699-someone-posted-this-in-the-lounge/#findComment-1693340 Share on other sites
