Just had a week staying at polean farm which is 10 mins from looe-lots of fun for a toddler. Thoroughly recommend east looe beach, it's a perfect toddler beach! Not sure what else to do as we were on the farm /

Beaches most of the time. There's the fowey estuary which is a nice short boatride and very picturesque. Also if you want some day trips then the Eden project and rock / padstow aren't far.

Hi,

We have a place on Whitsand Bay so would highly recommend the beach there. When the tide goes out it's vast and lovely for a toddler to roam. A bit of a walk down, but worth it. Probably 20 mins from Looe. West of Looe (about 5 or 10 mins) there is Talland Bay. It's a gorgeous little cove with a great cafe. The beach is slightly rocky but perfect for kids. Further along you have Polperro and if you're feeling fit the walk between Talland Bay and Polperro is well worth doing.

As Hoppermum says, the Fowey estuary is very picturesque. Park up in Lerryn and walk to St Winnow or vice versa. A beautiful wooded walk. And the ferry from Boddinick to Fowey is fun.

Enjoy,

Matt

Yes second the talland bay recommendation. But my top tip is to buy some proper sea-shoes for your son (the wetsuit style ones with grip on the bottom) all the beach shops sell them. It will make it easier for your son to deal with small rocks / pebbles-best ?7 I spent all holiday!

We have just got back from Looe and lovely as it was it is not beautiful golden sandy beaches. The local stone is slate and the beaches are grey sand and pebbles and not pretty. Looe beach itself is relatively narrow and quite a walk from the nearest car-park. Seaton further up the coast (4 miles) has a much wider beach but again is also grey sand but close to car-parks and a fab cafe and (grotty) toilets close by. We stayed just outside Polperro, which is a beautiful fishing village, Looe is the nearest seaside town and it is lovely and does have a beach but it is quite small, v busy and grey sand. Looe town is cute and not a nasty over-developed seaside resort - we drove down to Newquay to see a golden sandy beach and Newquay town was grim, over-commercialised and shabby but the beach lovely but also full of jelly-fish due to the earlier heat-wave.

Looe is great for crabbing, has a fab playround, loads of seaside shops, a small arcade and merry-go-round, boat trips, small beach, seaside shops, tea-rooms and restaurants but I don't think it is the best Cornwall has to offer. Going again I would head for the north coast of Cornwall or go much deeper south past St Michaels Mount.

Mixed reviews it was lovely but the beaches were disappointing, just not the endless golden sand we had been promised Cornwall offers. The beaches are grey.

    • By now you’ve hopefully seen that our main demonstration against Trump’s state visit is in London on Wednesday. Many of you have also asked, though, about how you can help ‘welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. So here’s the plan: We’re asking you to come and line Windsor High Street tomorrow in a peaceful, static protest.  Time: 6pm, Tue 16 Sept Location: Assemble outside Windsor Parish Church, High St, Windsor SL4 1LS and then spread out along the High Street. Grab some cardboard and a pen and make a homemade sign to show Donald Trump and his supporters what you think of them!  The world’s media will be in Windsor to cover the state visit, so showing visually that he is not welcome will send an important message far and wide. If you are coming then please join this Signal chat group for important updates.     Protest safety Please buddy up and come with someone else You have a right to peacefully demonstrate, but we are expecting a high police presence. Remain non-violent and non-confrontational, and do not talk to the police. It may be better to dress inconspicuously, not like an ‘activist’ We plan on ending at 7.30pm. Please leave in groups of 5–10 and make sure you have a bust card This action is entirely legal but we still recommend that you read this key advice when going on a protest to know your rights. Remember:  No comment No personal details Ask ‘under what power?’ No duty solicitor Don’t accept a caution Here is the protest support line: 07946 541 511 and here is more information on Stop & Search under the Public Order Act.   Thank you for being part of the movement against Trump. In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
    • We booked a day when we could drop around 8 bags. They directed us to use the rear entrance on Carver Rd. I would definitely ring as they don’t seem to have much space at the back. Our experience was great, they were very polite and thankful.
