I think veggie burgers are about to be banned?

The burgers aren't about to be banned.

Just what they are called.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Does the dead animal  aka  meat industry think if they are called something other than veggie burgers, people who don't eat meat will return to eating it?

Just so they can have a "burger" instead of a "patty" or whatever the veggie burgers will be called instead?

The Firazza pizza place (near Spinach) looks closed and there's a possession notice on the door?

That’s been there for a while I think

anyone remember when GBK first started (long before se22) and what a breath of fresh air. Then they got investor money and became a frozen franchise.  Awful

as for veggie burgers being banned - you’ll be telling us that Tesco won’t call their Christmas trees Christmas trees next

I notice they also do chicken burgers as well. I just cannot stand beef burgers - there is something in the way they are prepared that disagree with me. Having had 3 hospital admissions and being on drips following eating certain foods. I now only eat chicken, fish and veggie and touch wood not had a reoccurrence of previous issues.

That's very good news!!

I walked by Honest Burger around lunchtime today and they had just opened. They haven’t publicly promoted the opening yet because they were focusing on the building work, but the guy I spoke to was really friendly.

They’re giving away free lemonade as an opening promotion and mentioned that residents should download their app because they can get a free meal after buying a certain number of meals.

Sounds like they also do takeaway as well.

I told him that Honest had been trending on the EDF, so I would post about today’s opening.

Absolute rave review for the food at 2210 by Natty Can Cook in Herne Hill. 👏👏👏 Grace Dent of the Guardian is no easy reviewer.

Just as a little follow up: Grace Dent called this place opposite Brockwell Park one of her best restaurants of the year. Quite an achievement - and it looked pretty busy when I passed by last week. Well done to them!

Does anyone know what's happening to Belleville restaurant on Forest Hill Road?

Checked the licensing register and nothing on there.

Interesting  though looks as if a licence has been granted for the old Galleon hairdressers on the corner of Forest Hill rd / Dunstans Rd to Lulus Ltd which is the deli/wine bar in Herne Hill.

If you look at the Companies House records you'll see that that the owner of Lulu's London Ltd owns several other businesses with SE London names -  mainly in hairdressing/beauty, and iirc one licensed restaurant.

PS The Forest Hill Road licence covers seven days/week, daytime and evening, and includes off-sales of alcohol as well.   https://app.southwark.gov.uk/premises/granted/887411

    • Hi, it’s only for prop reasons so if it’s a used one or a out of date one must be bright red if anyone has one laying around drop me a message thank you
    • Does anyone know why the waiting time is so long? Are all the counter spaces being used? If so, it's hard to see how things could be speeded up within the existing building. Is the office short staffed eg due to illness? Are the queues at particular times of day which may coincide with staff breaks? Are the counter staff inexperienced or lack full training or are just very slow? Is the manager inexperienced? Do the customers have things which may take a long time? I'm sure there are other potential reasons. Without knowing what the issues are, it's hard to say how things could be improved.
    • Maybe, temper the complaint to say that it is a popular, well used service but understaffed by helpful people, often resulting in long queues of over an hour.  Make it less about how bad it is but how well.used and needed it is 😉
