Rueben at the Plough pub on Lordship Lane used to organise a Dads and babies group - worth wandering up there to speak to him - it's a lovely family friendly pub anyway so worth it just for an afternoon anyway. There are loads of baby/toddler groups around ED, I'm not familiar with the Dad only ones (being a Mum), but the groups we go to are certainly not Mum only. There's music classes, storytelling, playgroups (at church halls and local pubs), loads of stuff - if you want more details let me know.
I agree with Kristy - have a chat to Reuben. I know at one point he was talking about setting up a Dad & baby group on a Saturday or Sunday at the pub, which Mr Pickle was keen to head along to... but I'm not sure if it's actually been started up yet. I think the usual Friday Plough Babies has stopped for the summer, so it may be that he's waiting until later in the year to set up the Dads group.

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
