Mice catcher

You can get humane mouse traps, which you can bait with something like peanut butter (which I have read mice like).

The mouse gets in but can't get out.

Then you release it somewhere not near the house, having identified and blocked up any holes where it could have got in.

Just remember to check the traps. My brother once  forgot, and found a mummified mouse in one 😭

I sadly doubt that any professional mouse catchers are going to use humane methods. I really hope I'm wrong.

If you use traditional spring traps, you have to dispose of the bodies 🐀

Also - the only times I have had mice is when they found a source of food in the house. Once it was food left out over Christmas when the fridge was full. They ate all the inside of a cheese and left the red plastic (?) outside of it.

It looked just the same, but there was no cheese left in it 🤣

Once it was bird food which wasn't in a completely closed container.

Also - mice can come inside  to get warm. They may go away once the weather is not so cold.

If your problem isn't too great, and you block up any holes, your cats may get all the mice already in the house and you won't get any more?

Hi there

I can recommend Stuart at clearzone pest control. 07946498481, [email protected], www.clear-zone.co.uk

I’ve recommended them to quite a few customers around East Dulwich and always been thanked for recommending him.

just let him know that Jack from BNI forwarded his details and he’ll get onto to helping you quickly

If you live in a semi or terraced house, then they can also come in that way.  Not sure how that can be stopped.  Keep all food unable to be attractive to mice in mouseproof containers. I had very few mice when I had cats.  One was chased up the stairs by my cat and the mouse disappeared under the skirting board by flattening itself.  The cat sat there for ages, waiting for it to reappear.  That is the only mouse I ever saw there.   Also, if someone is doing building work nearby, that can cause mice to appear in your place.

    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
