Library Of Things

That's very good news, but where in the Leisure Centre are they going to put it?

Just wanted to remind everyone of this facility.  It is in the Leisure Centre foyer and so accessible during the normal opening hours.  I've just used the SDS drill (which comes with drill and chisel bits and eye & ear protection) for under a tenner for a day.  Equipment was in very good nick and process was more easier and more convenient that traditional hire shop.

Last time I looked they didn't have a shredder, and when I enquired I was told that they were in the process of getting new ones (I'm not sure why they couldn't have kept the old ones till they got the new ones - maybe they were broken).

I was told to keep looking on their website. Hopefully it will be soon as I presently have masses of stuff I need to shred, and other methods of confidential disposal like soaking in the bath don't appeal at the moment!

ETA 2 July: I don't know whether they ever got the new ones, but a kind person on here gave me one!

Anyone using any of this stuff? It all looks quite expensive.

It is quite expensive, but if you only need something for a one off task, it's probably cheaper than buying it.

Probably cheaper to buy  if it's something you will be using on a fairly regular basis, assuming you have got somewhere to store it.

    • Thats the problem, I dont have a solution, but I can see disadvantages of some of the proposed solutions.  Not selling it to a foreign company is my preference but after that I have no idea of the best path / solution with the least impact for all. Whats your view Sue ?
