We have a free public walk which we are running in collaboration with Southwark Libraries and Southwark Public Health NHS and we would be very grateful if you would add this to your listings:

Join CoolTan Arts CoolWalks for a FREE PUBLIC Walk for physical and mental health and wellbeing. Just turn up and join in.

Starting from East Street Library we will be exploring the Regeneration & Transformation of Walworth and Kennington including 19th century gentrified terraces, the 20th century Heygate estate and a 21st century conversion of an old Water Tower together with the newly completed ?8M transformation of Burgess Park ? the largest park in Southwark and finishing at the Imperial War Museum.

Go at your own pace, relax, learn new things, make friends, get fit and have fun.

THURSDAY, 12th SEPTEMBER from 12 noon to approximately 3.00 pm.

Start: EAST STREET LIBRARY, 168-170 Old Kent Road, London SE1 5TY

Bus: 21, 42, 53, 63, 172, 453

Train and Tube: Elephant & Castle (but then you need to get buses down the Old Kent Rd)

End: IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM

Bus: 1, 3, 12, 45, 53, 59, 63, 68, 100, 159, 168, 171, 172, 176, 188, 344, 360, 453, C10

Tube: Lambeth North

The walk is approximately 4 miles and we would ask participants to wear sensible footwear and to bring plenty of water, sun cream and sun hat. Please bring a packed lunch as we will stop for refreshments. Participants can leave the walk at any point although we would ask that they let a Walk Leader know.

If you have any queries, mobility needs or would like any further information, please call Georgina on 020 7701 2696 or email [email protected].

    • Dog kennel isn't a great name for a school. I agree that it's ridiculous for the name to put anyone off going there, but don't see any issue with them rebranding if the parents and children prefer a new name. The school is surrounded by historical 'groves' (reflected in the names of Camberwell Grove, Grove park and Grove Vale for example), so it's not a totally random name.
    • It might help if there are body cams to record evidence and a presence maybe a deterrent but I very much doubt a park warden would intervene with obnoxious and violent thugs - children or not. We need police for that.
    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
