Tesla at Belair House

Just driven past Belair House and seen a Tesla branding advert up at the gate. Anyone know what's going on there?

In response to the query about cost, I think it is perhaps more to do with the news, a raised arm and world events….

Yes. I can't imagine that there are many Musk supporters locally, but who knows.

Tbh most Tesla owners are people who are concerned about the environment and have purchased accordingly- but mr nut job has soured their purchasing- so I actually sympathise with them being associated with such an awful man. They must be really desperate to collab with Tesla. Honestly, it's not even the worst thing they've done. I've noticed these sex events happening in the last few months at a place that's supposed to be a restaurant and venue. I was planning my wedding there and was appalled by the setup for those events. When I discovered what was going on, I was disgusted by how they were using the same rooms as 'playrooms' where families are supposed to eat. The hygiene and safety concerns are just unacceptable.

We really need to come together as a community to put a stop to this! They're destroying a sacred, Grade II listed building, and it's just not right. The owners need to be held accountable for their actions. It's time for us to stand up and protect our heritage and ensure that these spaces are used appropriately, especially when they should be serving families and the community.

Literally promoting it on their Instagram! Only just taken down after scrutiny.

They certainly seem to be holding some very strange events there.

Southwark owns it. It's leased to some guy from Orpington or something. They have tried to run a bar, restaurant, Uber Eats dark kitchen, nightclub for one off events...but never quite committing to one of them or being very successful.

Some of the nightclub nights are a shambles: booze bottles all over the pavements, screaming and yelling, dickheads racing cars. I didn't know they were doing swingers nights - obviously I don't move in the right circles to get an invitation... 😞

It's odd that no-one has been able to make a real go of it in recent years. It should be a great space - a country manor feel in the centre of London overlooking a park? But the forecourt is a bit shabby.

BTW much as I dislike Musk - I'm not sure I can blame the Belair House lot (which is a tiny business) much for taking money to let them do a launch event. And calling Belair House "sacred" seems a bit of a stretch 🤷

The idea of ‘open to the public via social media’ sex parties is a bit scary y. Usually guests are vetted and invited.

Not really my area of expertise TBH but I assume there would be some sort of vetting at the door.  I assume these sorts things have to be licensed by the council?
