sunbob
Oh dear. Does anyone know how strict primary schools are about coat colour. Ours says a 'dark plain colour' but I know my daughter would prefer something a bit more interesting. nunheadmum
Depends how strict they are on uniform in general. I know that at our local school, anything goes for coats. If it's a local state school, I'd be surprised if they are really able to enforce uniform as far as the coat given the range of economic circumstances families find themselves in.For primary I'd generally say cheap and cheerful - they'll only end up in a pile in the cloakroom being walked over by all the other kids. Or maybe that's just our school! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36060-boring-old-school-coats/#findComment-676266 Share on other sites
ludoscotts
verbaudet (www.verbaudet.co.uk) has some lovely coats which come in a dark grey colour which would fit with school policy yet have funky polka dots, and little bows on pockets really sweet for little girls Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36060-boring-old-school-coats/#findComment-676378 Share on other sites
Pugwash
If wearing a dark coat - make sure your child wears a reflective band as with dark nights coming and street lights not as good as they could be - they need to be seen. east-of-the-Rye
please! the rest of Europe think we in Britain are quite mad with our obsession with school uniforms. just let her/him wear something bright, warm, washable, reflective as mentioned above and hardwearing. Monkey
My French mother was appalled to hear of my daughter's uniform. "What? Even in a state school?" :-)She will be wearing her pink coat to go to school. I checked with the school. Will be brightening up the navy blue tights and grey dress combo!Seconding Vert Baudet. would also recommend Moonsoon, which has some great coats in dark colours. They have a fab navy blue one at the moment.http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_3,mon_3.3,mon_3.3.5/4701200623#gallery Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36060-boring-old-school-coats/#findComment-676910 Share on other sites
