He/she followed me and my friends quite a long way along the road so we worried they might be out of their catchment area. Quite dusty paws which also made me think perhaps they’d been roaming away from home for a few days.

Took photos in case anyone is missing them! Very pretty, friendly long-haired black and white cat, leopard print collar, pink paw-print metal tag. They eventually stopped following us across the road from Mrs Robinson.

Ah, grand! Yeah he was lurking near the vet when he first decided to promenade along Lordship Lane with us.  A friendly chap though he took gentle umbrage at me removing some of the leaves from his fur.

Raymond!! What a treasure. Long may he maraud.

Don't know if Raymondo still does it.but he used to wander in and out the co op.which was last year😊 this cat knows how to chill.

Did he shoplift snack food like seagulls sometimes do, or did he queue up and pay like a responsible southeast London citizen?

🤣 at the puns.

Seriously though, thank you for not assuming he must be lost just because he followed you a long way.

Thank you for posting on here rather than  taking him back to your house!

Of course! Not least because I live in Sydenham, so that would be a long way to take him out of his manor, he'd have been very confused. He looked pretty happy, I just thought it made sense to check.

He seems purr-fectly happy pussyfooting around Lodship lane.

I got a bit nervous when he decided to cross the road, but he must have thought it was a whisk(er) worth taking.

But it's not for me to paw-lice his movements.

    • Why have things got so complicated? I suppose a cat flap with a timer might be useful for people out all day but can't really see the point of them when its so easy to flip a simple mechanical lock. This is how my last cat flap operated but had to be replaced when cat wearing cone of shame tried to escape and broke it. The cat flap I have now is one of those linked to cats microchip but even then there is just a four way dial which allows different kinds of access - or not. Not that cat is bothered, refuses to use it and demands i open the door for her. This is bit of a rant because along with a new boiler I got a new electronic programmer which is really annoying as it takes 5 minutes to change a simple temperature whereas with old programmer it took 10 seconds. Hope you get sorted @oglander and enjoy your future servitude to your feline master.
    • Did you have the same covid jab as you have had over the years?
    • Good morning, neighbours! We have around 1,000+ glasses like these from a café that just closed down. Not sure if anyone would like to keep some before we send them to charity. Please feel free to come and pick them up at 22 Upland Road, SE22 9EF anytime before 31st Oct😉
    • What "stricter" consequences could there be for shoplifting (or any other crime) than being put into jail, do you think? Though our prisons are of course full enough already, without more people being shoehorned  into them.
