tfwsoll
Is anyone else having problems with post being delivered? We have had several small parcels but no letters. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/361911-no-post-for-a-week/ Share on other sites
green_avocado
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Fwiw, we received a regular letter this week. Maybe it's worth asking at the Dulwich delivery office (it's in West Dulwich, though. Their phone number is 03457740740) to see if there are aware of any issues in your particular area? I've seen cases in the past were the a particular postie was sick and they didn't cover for them, they just let everything accumulate for a couple of days until the person was back. MaryT
This problem has been going on since before Covid due to the closure of the Dulwich sorting office. The local MP Ellie Reeves is aware and has written to the Post Office. They give the same generic responses about 'temporary' staffing issues. Would encourage people to email Ellie Reeves. It's about time this was finally resolved! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/361911-no-post-for-a-week/#findComment-1707739 Share on other sites

It's about time this was finally resolved! Expand I can't see it will ever be finally resolved, unfortunately. Although the local problems were made much worse due to the move of the Sylvester Road delivery office to Peckham, Royal Mail has had issues ever since it was privatised. Whenever the local MP gets involved, things get a bit better temporarily, then they just deteriorate again. I hope I'm wrong, but there are similar postal delivery issues all over the country. I think there are currently discussions ongoing to change the delivery requirements which Royal Mail is supposed to adhere to for first and second class post. Silly question, but are you actually expecting letters? I haven't had any post for ages either, but I'm not expecting any! Much stuff these days is done by email or on apps. Nigello
I went online and, after crawling through lots of options, finally got to a page that allowed me to make a complaint that wasn’t to do with a generic problem. I explained that lots of people in and around SE22 are having irregular deliveries. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/361911-no-post-for-a-week/#findComment-1707745 Share on other sites
tfwsoll
Thanks for the replies. I am expecting several personal and official letters that were posted last week and should have arrived by now, including a new bank card. I complained to my MP, Helen Hayes, a few years ago when most people in ED had the same problem. She took up the issue and things seemed to improve. I rang Peckham Sorting Office but the call went to the PO call centre - after a 20 minute wait I managed to speak to someone so I'll see if anything arrives today.
