There's a great band playing at the Grape & Grain in Crystal Palace on Saturday...the Milk Men, the lead singer lives in East Dulwich and the guitarist in West Dulwich....they do some classic rock covers ...Zeppelin, Hendrix, Cream, Dr Feelgood, Queen....the pub is at the top of Anerley Hill..9pm, free admission. Well worth going along if you fancy some live music..
I terribly miss the Dream Machine (below Dulwich Caf?, now that awesome vintage audio gear workshop). That was a very fun space and time. When I moved to London 7 years ago I never thought so many of its areas would be so...suburban. Don't get me wrong, this area has plenty of pros, but it would be lovely just to be able to walk into a local public house every once in a while and become enveloped in noise for a couple of hours.

Here's a few other south east London regular live music venues which may be of interest as they are fairly close to East Dulwich. They are all free, have been going a while and as far as I know have not been mentioned here. This info is accurate as as of Jan 2015 - but nothing is forever!

FLOWER OF KENT SE14 - reggae/ska/jazz trio + guests every Tuesday.

THE TELEGRAPH, SE14 - Open mic with some jamming usually every other Wed.

THE GOLDEN ANCHOR SE15 - Jazz jam usually 2nd and 4th sunday of the month 2 till 5.

JOINERS ARMS , Camberwell. funky 5 piece steel band first sunday of the month 5 till 9 ish.

DULWICH HAMLET FOOTBALL CLUB. open mic/jam usually the first wed of the month but has not kicked in this year yet.

THOMAS BECKET Old Kent Rd. Modern jazz Qt every monday with some jamming.

THOMAS BECKET old Kent Rd. Roots reggae 5 piece every thurs.

TIA MARIA, SW8 (not so close to ED but maybe of interest) Brazilian duos and sometimes groups, most thursdays and sunday evenings.

TOULOUSE LAUTREC, kennington, Live music 7 nights a week, jazzy crooners, Soul pop and French singers and also a jazz jam every mon. They may expect you to eat on some nights but I'm pretty sure not on mondays.

NEW CROSS INN jazz jam every sunday afternoon.

THE CAMBRIA SE15, jazz quartet and yet more jazz jamming! every sunday 6 till 9 ish (Also folk upstairs sometimes)

THE EFRA, Brixton. Ska and jazz quartet + guests every thurs and every sat nite.

MONTPELIER, Peckham. Piano and double bass duo, sunday afternoons.

Please don't ask me to comment or give further details. Obviously with so much music happening it can't ALL be great or to everyone's taste but have fun exploring. Ross.

James Riley, absolutely ace guitarist, was at The Pyrotechnics Arms in Nunhead last night, though doing mostly covers rather than what I've heard him do before - because it was a pub gig I guess.

Apparently they have live music most Saturday nights (but I think not next Saturday).

Never been in there before - they have a great choice of music on the juke box, too, including loads of blues!

Is there anything  I can do in terms of registering it with the police ?

    • Well, he’s just turned up. 17 days.  very thin and seems a bit traumatised. Presumably been trapped somewhere.  I’d love to know where!
    • I contacted Niko based on ED Forum reviews and he lived up to expectations. I contacted him on Friday and we arranged for him to come check my faulty toilet on Monday morning. Within a couple of hours he had fixed the issue including going to buy the spare parts. He has a no nonsense approach and you know you are in good hands. Highly recommended.
