ParkHallFC
There's a great band playing at the Grape & Grain in Crystal Palace on Saturday...the Milk Men, the lead singer lives in East Dulwich and the guitarist in West Dulwich....they do some classic rock covers ...Zeppelin, Hendrix, Cream, Dr Feelgood, Queen....the pub is at the top of Anerley Hill..9pm, free admission. Well worth going along if you fancy some live music.. LukeyFoxtrot
I terribly miss the Dream Machine (below Dulwich Caf?, now that awesome vintage audio gear workshop). That was a very fun space and time. When I moved to London 7 years ago I never thought so many of its areas would be so...suburban. Don't get me wrong, this area has plenty of pros, but it would be lovely just to be able to walk into a local public house every once in a while and become enveloped in noise for a couple of hours. Ross A.
Here's a few other south east London regular live music venues which may be of interest as they are fairly close to East Dulwich. They are all free, have been going a while and as far as I know have not been mentioned here. Modern jazz Qt every monday with some jamming.THOMAS BECKET old Kent Rd. They may expect you to eat on some nights but I'm pretty sure not on mondays.NEW CROSS INN jazz jam every sunday afternoon.THE CAMBRIA SE15, jazz quartet and yet more jazz jamming! every sunday 6 till 9 ish (Also folk upstairs sometimes)THE EFRA, Brixton. Sue
James Riley, absolutely ace guitarist, was at The Pyrotechnics Arms in Nunhead last night, though doing mostly covers rather than what I've heard him do before - because it was a pub gig I guess.Apparently they have live music most Saturday nights (but I think not next Saturday).Never been in there before - they have a great choice of music on the juke box, too, including loads of blues!
