Can anyone recommend a local coffee shop or other store that sells freshly roasted beans?

Not local, I know but I swear by the Algerian Coffee Stores in Old Compton St. Fantastic old shop, great staff and huge selection of great coffees.

I'd second Old Spike and Volcano, 40 Martell Road, Norwood. It's a pleasant stroll from East Dulwich. I'm not sure if they still offer you a free coffee if you buy more than £15 (I think, from memory) of coffee beans, pods etc. in store.

I think Jones of Brockley on East Dulwich Grove sell coffee beans

Jones sell Monmouth beans. Their stock often sells out so the turnover is good. Otherwise also like old spike as per above and have had lovely coffee from volcano too
