Mabaker
I've just seen a park worker mowing down all the tall grass meadow area on Junction at East Dulwich Road, just in time for all the little creatures that have made it their home to be slaughtered. What are they thinking? 3 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362643-mowing-in-peckham-park/ Share on other sites

CPR Dave
It's a park, not a meadow. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362643-mowing-in-peckham-park/#findComment-1709320 Share on other sites

Too much effort is put into preserving nature nowadays, it's very disorderly. Think of how much cheaper and cleaner festivals could be if the areas could simply be swept afterwards. I cultivate one too. But this thread is a bit knee jerk. Time would be better spent lobbying Southwark and other big landowners to create more wildlife havens. malumbu
Just found a link for LB Southwark wildlife and ecology. Suggest all those listing in disgust to read some of this. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/culture-and-sport/parks-and-open-spaces/ecology-and-wildlife 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362643-mowing-in-peckham-park/#findComment-1709329 Share on other sites
Mabaker
Southwark lists parks as an ecologically important space so don't understand the point. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362643-mowing-in-peckham-park/#findComment-1709335 Share on other sites
