If people were diligent about not leaving food items out where it is accessible, then we wouldn't have as big a fox problem. Foxes raid trash bins for food and leave rubbish strewn on the pavement.
Other European cities have strict rules on disposal of edibles and they dont have a fox problem

I know an instance where the foxes quickly learned how to avoid such devices.

Yes, they are intelligent ❤️

I expressed my experience, if you don't like it, well that's your choice.

They crap on the lawn, it has to be cleared up otherwise blue bottles come on it and spread germs. It's disgusting.

Various methods of deterring the foxes (aka stopping them coming and crapping on your lawn) have been suggested in this thread.

If you don't want to try them, and prefer to keep clearing up the crap and complaining about it, well that's YOUR choice 🙄

You keep insisting that you're "just stating facts", but so far, most of what you've shared isn't fact - it's just your personal opinion, framed with hostility.

Foxes aren't classified as "vermin" in the UK. They're wild animals protected under the Animal Welfare Act & the Wildlife & Countryside Act . & Yes, they do play a vital role in controlling rodent population.

The more you double down on insults & misinformation, the more you discredit your own argument. It's possible to be fed up & still informed. Take the information provided to you & do something about it.

BTW culling doesn't even work.

Why wouldn't culling work for foxes and squirrels?

I see more dog mess on the streets round here than anything produced by foxes.

Nope, that's not the dogs fault, rather the owner who can't be bothered to train or clear up after their pet dog

Don't need teaching.

No hostility here, just responding to people who see no wrong in these pests

    • There is now two threads on this. I am really struggling to understand why people have such issues with booking their swim.  Most things in life now require prebooking whether for leisure or not.  Do the same people find booking a table at a resturant or a seat at the cinema just as annoying?  We are very lucky to have 3 local swimming pools.  Since the booking system was introduced I personally find the expeience so much better. If you book you are guaranteed a swim at the time you want in the length you want.  Yes you have to be organised for Dulwich but some of the other pools are never full.
    • "Only those obsessed with the idea of efficiency (at the expense of humanity) can applaud a 100% bookable system. It stinks of top-down bureaucracy and goes against how most people want to live their lives. (Specific needs (preferences, really) can still be accommodated with a booking/set aside system but a totalitarian approach just isn’t realistic or human)" WOW - this seems a bit extreme.  Most things in life you need to book. Yes it can be a bit of a pain but thats the way it is.  You could try the other pools in the area- we are very lucky to have 3 + pools in our area
    • Exactly this - and at least 10% of those don’t turn up and don’t get fined? Only those obsessed with the idea of efficiency (at the expense of humanity) can applaud a 100% bookable system. It stinks of top-down bureaucracy and goes against how most people want to live their lives. (Specific needs (preferences, really) can still be accommodated with a booking/set aside system but a totalitarian approach just isn’t realistic or human).
