Angell34
So over the last few days the old Harvester at the top of the lane has been cleaned up. They’ve cut down all the trees and cleared the front then this morning there is a cherry picked painting all the hoardings. Do we think the council has finally told Dulwich Estate to clean it up and stop it from being an eye sore or do we think it’s been cleaned because it’s been sold or it’s on the market? Penguin68
I suspect it may have been an end of lease requirement on the lessee. Probably negotiated with the ground landlord (Dulwich Estate) as to what should be done. Considering that they are not handing back a viable building for immediate re-leasing. Jenijenjen
It's been suggested on the other thread that Stonegate are due to hand back to DE in September and there may be clauses in the contract about the condition it has to be handed back in Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/365885-cleaning-up-old-harvester/#findComment-1717392 Share on other sites
jazzer
Doing the outside - pointless Internally - dread to think what the condition is. And as they say, you can't polish a turd. Jenijenjen
There's no record on Southwark's website of planning permission for demolition which according to this website is needed to demolish a pub. Also for demolishing a building in an unsafe condition which could well be the case. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/permission/common-projects/demolition/planning-permission Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/365885-cleaning-up-old-harvester/#findComment-1717404 Share on other sites
alice
There’s no record on southwark for planning permission for anything for that building. But something will happen and that’s my prediction. It’s a waste of space at the moment big old pubs like that aren’t working anymore. They’re closing down all over the place. A shop on the ground floor, a mini Lidl perhaps and then flats above built in the style of the adjoining flats. Social housing would be the preference but DE will go for the money. Cyclemonkey
Ooh I'd LOVE a mini Lidl there. So much more convienent for me than Camberwell or Sydenham. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/365885-cleaning-up-old-harvester/#findComment-1717408 Share on other sites
