I dont get it. I've used freecycle a few times to offload unwanted quality items. I get offers and respond to them but they never turn up and/ or never reply when I message them back.

I find this very rude. If they've changed there mind that's fine but they never tell you. The same thing happens when repsonding to offers. You reply and they dont get back, its shit. Its seems very FkU in Southwark. Well Fk them too! Anyway, never again.

Its even more painful than ebaying. You know those people who cant read the post properly but keep nagging you with questions.  People have gotten so rude and so lazy and disrespectful in general, they forget that at the nd of their text BS there is an actual human being.

I just run over anyone who crosses my path while masturbating their sad little phone. That's evolution and that's God's work.

I find that if you give your name and mobile number when replying and say when you can collect (eg I can collect this evening at X) you are far more likely to be successful.  I also prioritise people who say please and thank you - simple manners.  You can also block people who fail to show or respond in a timely manner.

    • Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
    • I’ve reported two instances of mobile phone theft to 999 in recent times. On both occasions several police units have arrived very quickly - in one case they found the perpetrator.
    • With all these high-end car thefts, surely there's a case to be made for all new cars to be supplied with a Crook Lock type device and having insurance invalidated if the owner does not have it in place when it is parked.
