What a gem just off Lordship Lane!
SD Café serves some of the most authentic Cantonese food I’ve had in a very long time. Every dish is bursting with freshness and flavour – you can really taste the care in their cooking and the quality of the ingredients.

We tried the pork dumplings, dumpling soup, udon noodles, and finished with their incredible matcha layered cake. Each dish was beautifully prepared, full of depth, and thoughtfully presented. On top of that, their great coffee and authentic hot chocolate from Aroma Lab make it the perfect spot whether you’re after a meal or just a treat.

The service is just as good as the food. The team are experienced, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, which makes the whole experience warm and memorable.

This place is so amazing I had to let others know about it. SD Café is a true hidden treasure in Dulwich. If you enjoy authentic Cantonese flavours paired with great hospitality (and brilliant coffee), this is definitely the place to go. I was amazed by the price, compare to the excellent quality of the food. Highly recommend!

What is wrong with you? Person was letting others know, found a nice place - just like person who recommended great Italian restaurant when I had a bad vibe about Love Dulwich.Well did not expect new ownership - thought same owners and staff but just changed menu-previous manager had told me that was changing from cafe, do glad I popped my head in.

what difference does it make if they are connected or not - none of our business at all - we can go and try or not as we choose.

Some who have been on the forum for a long time will remember the "crushed and devalued" thread.

It reminded me of that, that's all.

    • Hello, I have seen several reviews written about Piplings Nursery from a number of years ago now. I would be keen to hear from any parents who have dealt with them more recently as we are interested in sending our son there.  Many thanks!
    • I wondered if anyone has tried an N Family nursery, particularly the new East Dulwich one but interested in reviews more generally? What are your experiences?
    • My last paragraph was relevant. I was in central London having a meal with family on the same day as the recent large right wing march. The date of the  meal was arranged before it was known about the march, and the venue was convenient for one of my brothers and his partner, who had travelled down from the midlands and had a hotel and theatre tickets booked near the venue. It was just up the road from Trafalgar Square, and my partner and I were seriously concerned on the way there and the way back that we would encounter violent people from the march. Luckily we were able to avoid this, but as I expect you will have read, several police officers were injured, and a friend of mine was amongst a group of counter protesters who were hemmed in by marchers for hours, which was obviously very frightening. The group had to be protected by police before they were finally able to get a safe passage out. Therefore, I don't think my last paragraph was unnecessary at all in the context of when I personally feel unsafe in London. I am not "going through a bad patch", beansprout, not am I "having a bad day ". Nor do I need to "get things off my chest". I am interested to know how you think I have "totally changed my tune"? Could you give some examples from before and after I "changed my tune"? Perhaps you would like to come and discuss your opinion of me face to face? I am very easy to find. I run gigs and Singarounds locally with my lovely partner, and we have organised two Forum Drinks, with a break over the summer.  We will be organising an October meet up soon, so perhaps you would like to come to that, if music isn't your thing? You could take the opportunity to meet some other forum posters as well
