The SDCAS Crowdfund campaign is now live: Help Save Local Charity Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers!

The SDCAS Crowdfund campaign is now live:

Help Save Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers!

"I’m proud to be an advice volunteer at Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS), a community that welcomes and supports refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers in Southwark.

Right now, we’re facing the toughest moment in our nearly 30-year history. Unless we raise funds this September, we may not be able to keep offering the hot meals, English classes, advice, and safe community space that so many people rely on.

That’s why I’m asking you to support our emergency Crowdfunder:

Even a small donation, or sharing this with your friends and family, will make a huge difference in helping us to reach our £70,000 goal and keep SDCAS open.

This place means so much to me, and to everyone who walks through our doors 💛.Thank you for your support in spreading the word.

...

Be sure to tag us @SouthwarkAsylum on Facebook and @sdcascommunity on Instagram

We really value your support, £70K is an ambitious goal but we know our dedicated supporters can get us over the line! Our sincere thanks in advance from all of us at SDCAS.

Best wishes
Judith Arkwright"

No donation from me , my hard earned tax money pays enough for them to stay in hotels and get 3 hot meals a day plus free mobile phones when there are people with children who are struggling to feed them even 1 meal a day..

Such a great organisation. I feel anyone with anti immigration views is not welcome in East Dulwich or in London.

Just - WOW - are you serious?

Equally, how about "anyone who disagrees with my definition of tolerance is not welcome in the community"?

Seeking asylum is legal.

Equating asylum seekers with 'illegal' immigrants is one of the most effective and long-lasting tricks of those diverting blame for the state of the country.

Sadly many have just followed that diversion, be it out of ignorance, laziness, or convenient alignment with other views they may hold.

Wow…. How do you feel you have the right to say who should or should not be welcome in dulwich for having different views than yourself.

i have lived in dulwich my whole life and seen so much change but this self righteous view is what dulwich is becoming and it’s sad.

It may be unpalatable, but not all asylum seekers are genuine and a number have their claims rejected. There are issues with the accommodation of those seeking to have their rejected status appealed. I doubt that news is not known.

Picking and choosing facts to suit your own beliefs is in itself dangerous.

The idea of having 100s of healthy working age people not allowed to work is absolutely ridiculous. It’s a set up for failure and division The Tory government organised that labour is carrying on with it.
