I'm pretty sure I saw him today near the junction of Lordship Lane and Dulwich common standing by the crossing near the entrance to the woods.

Wearing a black trench coat , black trousers and dark timberland style boots his clothes looked somewhat worn and he was looking pretty wild eyed..I was in a car going by and I noticed him standing by the kerb looking somewhat aggrivated.

other women please be aware

@jazzer start a where are the police thread on the Lounge.

In response to this several police officers were hurt at the Tommy Robinson march event yesterday.  150 thousand marched in support of the convicted criminal Robinson, many who have violent criminal convictions themselves and would support violence in pursuit of their aims.

And our right wing and far right politicians, celebs and influencers have all encouraged this divide in our community.

Yes I have got political

What has Tommy twelve names got to do with the awful attack that happened in our community? It's a bit low of you to use such an awful incident to air your personal gripes.

He was responding to comments in another post on this thread

He said there was no need to politicise the thread and then does the exact thing himself by derailing a serious subject.

To be fair, many people were posting off topic.

Might it be better to bring the thread back on topic rather than to continue discussing who derailed it/made it political etc etc?

You tell me. Its you that chose to speak for another poster.

Rather than making this thread political could people just realise that to the best of our knowledge this individual is still out and about in our neighbourhood.

please stay alert and hope he gets taken off of our streets sooner rather than after someone else gets hurt.

I was threatened at about 8.30am when heading to work one weirdly quiet morning a few weeks ago as I was crossing by Oliver bonas at the same time as the man. He was maybe late 40s dressed fairly scruffy but not in a stand out way. Unprovoked he said he would ‘knock me out’ and then kept pointing back at me to let me know he was watching me as he headed towards goose green roundabout. It really shook me up as there was no one else around.

I am a woman in her late 30s

Abit hard for police to do anything as clearly he is out and about at all times… would help if one had a photo…even taken from afar.

Hoping as police are appealing for assistance you reported it..ie tried our local beat officers as opposed to central number and on line or leave message.

Bean sprout, thank you for your concern…

Taking a photo would have put me in even more danger.

I have only just seen this appeal so I’ll try to figure out what day it was and will consider reporting it.

Wasn’t suggesting you took photo - Sod’s Law,no one was around!!!

What I meant was others might have taken or indeed, might if spotted taken a photo.

Well as you are younger than me, hopefully can run faster!

No matter what age, uncomfortable experience…

The area around Oliver Bonas is covered by the Goose Green SNT - I should report it to them- you can find their contact details on line.

Oh interesting. My only problem is I can’t remember the date… i didn’t write it down anywhere.

Well you must have a vague idea - perhaps mentioned it to work colleagues?

Must know within a month, two weeks ago?

Anyway, personally do report it - next time someone might be killed…

Up to you thou…

I have managed to work out the date to the best of my knowledge and have filed a report.

The tone of the interactions here has reminded me why I had not been on EDF for so long. Too many people seem to spend their time on here to gain pleasure from being contrary, judgemental, accusatory and unkind.

    • A lot of this is down to why the high street came into being in the first place  consumer demand  And now times has changed and consumers behave differently.  And businesses adapt to that.  It’s a bottom up approach as opposed to something imposed upon us.   It’s not to my tastes. But what do people expect to happen.  Jazzer is on to something when he says boycott Amazon - but the reality is even many who boycott Amazon choose other or more ethical alternatives. But still online  going into town for “a shop” just isn’t what people do anymore  Yeah but that’s not a real comparison. And “for ill” glosses over a lot of wrong as well  but we live in 2025 now and any of us oldies who think when we were 20 was the best time ever, a time we should go back to are just pining for our youths  there is no country in the world that can turn back the clock.  So in 2025, where is the closest vision of somewhere you would like.  Because if you look globally you don’t just get capitalism.  You can choose dictatorships or communism too
    • Kramer is great, met her a couple of times.  Told her the story of when she ran for Mayor and didn't attend a community event as she didn't want to spoil Ken (Livingstone)'s love in.  Amused me and her no doubt
    • I remember when all this was fields. The United Kingdom between 1945 and 1979. For good and ill.
    • Large supermarkets, the big shop, not relying on mum getting the bus into town, longer opening hours, end of price controls and other restrictions.  All affected the high street well before the internet.   Rye Lane is still pretty buzzy.  Loads of independent shops.  Modern life is not always rubbish
