Short Term Letting - 4 Bedroom Midcentury Home (June-October 2026)

Recommended Posts

I am planning to go travelling in 2026 with my partner and our newly refurbished 4 bedroom home in Sydenham Hill SE26 would be available for short lettings of up to 3 months, in the period between early-June and late-October 2026. This would be perfect for people refurbishing a house nearby and needing somewhere local and furnished on a short term basis.

The house is a 1960s townhouse on the Dulwich Estate and very close to The Wood House, and the nearest stations are Sydenham Hill (10 minute walk), Sydenham (5 minute bus ride) and Crystal Palace (5 minute bus ride). It has a garage, four bedrooms (one en-suite, and with a dressing room), an open plan kitchen-dining area, a large living room with a balcony and a garden. And stunning views over the woods over to the London skyline. It featured in Elle Decoration this year, and photos are available on request.

We have not decided on our plans yet and so could be flexible around others' needs for a rental but we are likely to start locking things down towards the end of the year, at which point we're likely to have firmer start and end dates.

    • I'd try the Dulwich Village or "North Dulwich Triangle" forums for more local knowledge but I don't think those areas compare to Abeville Road at all. It will be quite a different lifestyle.
    • Yes, Dulwich Village commands a premium and justifiably so given access to the City via London Bridge plus the top rate schools within walking distance.  The bus services are really good also - 37, 42 and P4. The P4 is useful for connecting to the Victoria line at Brixton. It's worthwhile waiting for the right property. I know of one which will be coming on the market in a few weeks - 4 bedrooms and south facing garden circa £2.5m.
    • This is an utterly foolish and alarmist statement, completely at odds with reality.
    • I realise this is highly unlikely, but if anyone has a colour laser printer in very good working order, I'd be delighted to take it off your hands!
