‘Welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday 16th September)

By now you’ve hopefully seen that our main demonstration against Trump’s state visit is in London on Wednesday. Many of you have also asked, though, about how you can help ‘welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. So here’s the plan: We’re asking you to come and line Windsor High Street tomorrow in a peaceful, static protest.  Time: 6pm, Tue 16 Sept Location: Assemble outside Windsor Parish Church, High St, Windsor SL4 1LS and then spread out along the High Street. Grab some cardboard and a pen and make a homemade sign to show Donald Trump and his supporters what you think of them!  The world’s media will be in Windsor to cover the state visit, so showing visually that he is not welcome will send an important message far and wide. If you are coming then please join this Signal chat group for important updates.

Protest safety Please buddy up and come with someone else You have a right to peacefully demonstrate, but we are expecting a high police presence. Remain non-violent and non-confrontational, and do not talk to the police. It may be better to dress inconspicuously, not like an ‘activist’ We plan on ending at 7.30pm. Please leave in groups of 5–10 and make sure you have a bust card This action is entirely legal but we still recommend that you read this key advice when going on a protest to know your rights. Nothing we can do to change any of the above

You may not like him being here but there is really nothing that can be done to stop this happening

It's a peaceful protest telling Trump he isn't welcome. Or at least, telling him that he and his views are not welcomed here by everybody.

It is obviously not going to change Trump's presence here.

It is just sending a message to him.

I feel very sorry for everyone who has got to grit their teeth and be nice to him. I even feel sorry for Keir Starmer 🤣

Camilla's sinuses are playing up again, so she's missing the Duchess of Kent's funeral this afternoon, but plans to 'participate fully' in the Trump visit.

Mmm. She wouldn't be looking for an excuse, would she?

An afternoon bent over a washing-up bowl of boiling water and Olbus Oil, with a tea towel on your head should clear that up.

Maybe a dab of Vicks on your nightie tonight.

You are right . It isn't going to change him for the better. Sending such a negative message is potentially counter-productive.

Trump is narcissistic, arrogant, unpredictable, spiteful, divisive, and dishonest, with a penchant for a total a disregard for democratic norms. 

He is one who bears a grudge so there's a case to be made for not offending him as he could react with a bunch of  adverse actions  such as  deciding to increase import tariffs on UK exports to the US.

I was replying to Jazzer, who said it wasn't going to change Trump's presence here.

However, you are also obviously right, and also  nothing will change Trump for the better. And yes, this could be counter productive.

But I'm sure the silver tongued Keir Starmer will be able to smooth things over. Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢 

I think it's right that people should feel able to make their feelings known.

It appears to be  a peaceful and well planned demonstration, and presumably they won't be bringing out the Baby Trump inflatable again, which must be well deflated by now.

Starmer dithers and is unable to make any decision and when he finally does he gets in massively wrong and duly backtracks.

The guy is a liability and clown who the country needs rid off before he taxes us to heaven whilst bankrupting the country. 

And as he's flying in and around Windsor for two days, I do hope they've got the skies covered as he's a sitting duck.

I'm just watching Trump's arrival at Stansted.

Apparently, he's spending tonight at the US Ambassador's house in Regent's Park.

Not really. They're in Essex.

Could be a long wait for some quite pissed off people in Windsor. He's not due there until tomorrow.
