Has David Lammy just lost his job?

David Lammy has been our Deputy Prime Minister for a short while but his comments today after Keir Starmer’s disastrous speech at the Labour conference surely warrant his resignation? What do people think?

Why was it a disastrous speech? I watched the BBC news and then listened to some of the discussion and it didn't come across like this,  You clearly hate Labour and everything they stand for.  Have Your Say on the BBC website may be a better place for you to post your strong views.

Strong views?  I thought this was The Lounge so anyone could bring something up?  This is an important part of our day to day life and the Labour Party isn’t doing what they promised since their election nearly a year and a half ago.

I hope he survives as it wasn't quite a hanging offence. He does tend to be a bit accident prone such as saying that Henry V11 succeeded Henry V111 and that Marie Antoinette won the Nobel prize.

Well at least David Lammy has made a grovelling apology about his comments but don’t think he’ll last or will have to resign.

You still haven't said what was wrong with his speech.  Knowing some that went to school with Farige....  No I'll stop there.

There are legal problems when especially high profile individuals call other individuals racist - which or any explains Lammy backtracking 

but if YOU are not able to look at Farage, his statements and his history and not see that he is a massive racist, then the problem isn’t legal but your own (poxy) brokenness
