On Oct 25th we have just one 3.5 hour ride at present to good old Beckenham Place Park. Hope to have a second shorter ride – watch out for info about that.
Beckenham Place Park is a regular destination for Southwark Healthy Rides. Route can include the off road Waterlink Way and the Park itself has an impressive Mansion and a good café (Homestead). Start 10am, Peckham Square (next to Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, SE15 5RY). Jamie leading. Planning a relaxed pace for this 13 mile ride, back by 1.30pm.
Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe.  If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place.
This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides organised by Southwark Cyclists, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/
Jean is going to lead a second ride next Saturday (25th Oct). Nice easy short ride to enjoy the Autumn colours. This is in addition to the longer Beckenham Place Park ride for which there are still places < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/peckham-to-beckenham-place-park-healthy-ride-tickets-1835385239659?aff=oddtdtcreator >
Jean will lead a short parks & commons ride to enjoy the autumn foliage. Start from Dulwich Clock Café in the middle of Dulwich Park at 10am. Heading across Brockwell Park we will follow cycle route 25 to Clapham Common cutting across to the Skylark cafe at Wandsworth Common where we will have our coffee stop. Returning via Brockwell Park arriving back to Dulwich Park around 12.30. About 10 miles round trip.

    • Local drug dealers have been placing stickers around ED to advertise the sale of drugs online. These stickers have been found on lamp posts, bins, railings, and metal containers, often around schools and playgrounds. If you see any, please remove them. They usually come off quite easily. Police have been informed.
    • I would prefer early evening but fairly flexible
    • Sure, for as long as that idiot is in the White House. For starters, let's stop buying anything from Amazon and use UK suppliers only. Here's a few  other businesses/services  we could easily do without:- Google ( use Qwant instead) Paypal ( use Wise, Revolut or Skrill - all UK based) eBay ( use Vinted) Tesla (plenty of alternatives) Apple ( Samsung with Android is better value) Cadburys (USA owned since 2010) here are a few other brands we could easily find alternatives   Procter & Gamble (P&G): (Gillette, Pampers, Ariel, Pantene, Tide). PepsiCo: (Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Quaker Oats, Gatorade). Coca-Cola Company: (Coca-Cola, Dasani, Minute Maid). Kraft Heinz: (Heinz Ketchup, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Oscar Mayer). Campbell Soup Company: (Campbell's Soups, Pepperidge Farm).
