We're currently have our tv, broadband and phone with Sky, mainly because my partner was keen to see the football that was on Sky but not on the other channels, but now it seems BT has some of those matches instead so we're looking to change. Does anyone know what the best 'packages' are which include Premier league and champions league matches? We can't get Virgin where we live as there are no cables in our particular area of SE22.We'd like to get rid of Sky -

What do other sports fans recommend?

BT only have one match every weekend, usually the early kick off on Saturday (12:30). So if he's well in to his footy, keep Sky!

And having been driven to the point of a breakdown by BT Customer Services recently, I'd not recommend them to anyone!

Although their infinity broadband is good, I'll give them that.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have BT Sports on BT Vision which indeed has 1 game a week, normally the lunchtime game on a Saturday. Then for an extra monthly payment I get Sky Sports 1 and 2, also through the BT Vision box. As I'm only really interested in football and cricket this works fine for me as I don't end up paying even more for "Lifestyle" channels on Sky that I will never watch. If you are into golf then its of less use as they are all on Sky Sports 3, and not available via BT Vision (same with F1 I guess).

All in all though, the costs of each service are not extremely different, and the pure grief of having to deal with 2 sets of customer service departments has stopped me from even considering a switch.

    • Malumbu,  if none of us were there, does that mean that nobody should post anything on here unless they have witnesses from the EDF? Why would someone post something like this if it  wasn't true? This is not about whether children should or should not be cycling on the pavement. There are specific issues. a) the child was out of sight of the person supposed to be caring for him b) he appears to have been  either not looking where he was going or was out of control of the bike c) if he did see that he was about to hit someone  he apparently did not give them any kind of warning  d)  a person was unexpectedly hit from behind whilst just walking along, which in my view makes him a victim e) does the title of the thread really matter as the issue was described in the first post?  f) nobody is blaming the child, they are blaming the person who should have been watching him g) do you really think it was acceptable for that person to find the situation funny?
    • Completely jobless and lunatic behaviour coming on a forum and complaining about a 4 year old and the child’s bike riding skills. Honestly grow up
    • I have to say, I too am upset about the passing of DulwichFox. He was a real local character, who unlike me, managed to stick with ED despite all of the nauseous yuppification of the last three decades. R.I.P to foxy    Louisa.
    • How long is a piece of string? AI was a bit rubbish on this one, but Checatrade : average cost to paint a house exterior is around £30 per square metre So depends on the size, access, time to put up scaffolding and cost of hiring and building that, surface preparation, and quality of materials.   Checkatrade put it at £2.5 k for average semi, that sounds a little cheap.
