ATTENTION!
On Nov 29th we have 2 rides both starting at London Bridge. One is a Jamie’s 3 hour circuit to Spitalfields Old Market and the other a short ride led by Jacqui (first time leading for us) to the Snoopy Trail in the City.
Jamie will lead a 3 hour ride to one of our favourite destinations. Start 10am, Southwark Needle, SE side London Bridge. Back by 1pm. Big loop probably including Covent Garden and Smithfields Market. Break at Spitalfields – even time for a bit of shopping! Mostly quiet streets, few major crossings, traffic usually light on a Saturday.. Flat ride, easy pace, suitable for all levels of cyclist. Come and join us.
The ride will be about 8 miles and take about 2 hours. Starting at Burgess Park (Stomping Grounds Café, Chumleigh Gardens, SE5 0RJ) at 10am and finishing at the Southwark Needle (Southwark Bridge) around 12 noon. A led ride will be available for anyone needing to return to Burgess Park. We'll go via  C10 and cross the river at Blackfriars Bridge. There we can pick up the Snoopy in the City Sculpture Trail. The trail is designed for walking so it's very much a stop-dismount-start ride as we approach each installation. Plenty time for photos. The Traill ends near St Paul's Cathedral. From there we'll stop at the reflective pool at 25 Cannon Street and take a look at Finsbury Circus before finishing the ride at London Bridge. An easy fun ride.
General.  Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe.  If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. These rides are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides organised by Southwark Cyclists, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/

    • It’s definitely not analysis  it’s just weird lashing out - calling CPRDave - a leftie?  wont be often I come to his defence, but I can’t see any recent evidence to support Dave being a leftie
    • I wonder if the tax will cause the £2 million plus market to stall but boost the sub £2 million market as houses sell for just below the threshold.  Will a house that then sells for less than its £2 million value, say at £1,95 million  then drop out of the tax or will the goverment still tax it as though it was worth over £2 million?   As the tax will obly raise 1/2 a billion, will the threshold creep downwards or will more houses go into it as property values increase ?  So many questions that may need to be understood better before it is inplemented otherwise there may be potential legal cleans post implementation.
    • Why are they disgusting? Takes me back to my earlier comment that some of you simply hate everything that Labour does. That is not "dislike" or are "unhappy" with, but "hate".
    • If I was hearing the same thing it sounded more like a 62 gun salute. A monotonous but extremely loud bang, bang, bang. Whatever type of firework was used it seems to have been chosen for maximum noise. Intrusive and anti social. Maybe take it to your local councillor. We are now at a stage that fireworks have been let off multiple times a week since September, sometimes well after 11pm. It is out of control.
