Builder recommendation needed

We are looking to start significant work on our property beginning in January 2014, expected to last approx 12 weeks. We plan to knock down an internal wall, move our kitchen, install underfloor heating, fit a bi-fold door and move a toilet, among other things...

We have full architect plans and are currently putting the work out to tender against a detailed list of the work needed.

If anyone has any recommendations of builders that they have used for similar work, who worked to budget and on time I would really appreciate a DM.

Thanks so much!

In response to bvas's posts, see mine at http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1281652,1282852#msg-1282852.

Hi, I can recommend Phillip Quinn 07701 097779 who is based locally in Peckham. Last year we had internal walls moved, sliding doors put in, re-plastering etc. I recommended him to other friends who required more extensive work and they were very pleased with the outcome too.

    • Unfortunately I've had very bad experiences with John Lewis technical help department, who have more than once given me completely wrong information, and once had to pay me compensation as a result. In any case unless you bought the phone there I'm not sure they would help? A local phone shop might, though.
    • Just had three areas of damp expertly dealt with by JKA Damp proofing & Plastering. Each area had a different cause and Jonathan diagnosed and explained the problems comprehensively. The family firm then carried out all the necessary repairs having prepped each area meticulously. The work was done to the highest standard and then everything was cleared up beautifully. I would wholeheartedly recommend the firm if you have damp problems!
    • hi Tom I'd ask a teenager. I'd lend you mine but they are asleep.  Pop into a phone shop and ask for help with it. It's quite straightforward, but easier once you know.
    • I switched from one samsung phone to another Samsung phone about a couple of years or so ago. Now I may be misremembering but what I think I  did was to 1. Open a samsung account which gave me access to Samsung's cloud. 2. Uploaded what i wanted to transfer to new phone to the cloud. It gives a choice of which categories to upload. 3. Log in to samsung on new phone then download stuff from cloud onto new phone. I was very hesitant but I remember it was quite simple and straightforward, I surprised myself. I do keep all photos and documents on other clouds which means I can access the same file/photo from different devices, and agree with Sue about accessing emails. Good Luck!
