I am not sure about tights as I've had mostly a summer pregnancy but I did buy a pair of those Shoe Therapy shoes from the Seraphine website. They were expensive but I can honestly say they are amazing and I have definitely got my money's worth wearing them nearly every day. On the few days I wore ordinary ballet flats to work the difference in terms of aching legs and swelling was huge and I was hobbling about. I would definitely recommend them.

I have a job where I am standing most of the day so I invested in 3 pairs of these solidea 140 denier compression tights. Absolute godsend. Have lasted well too. Pretty much in constant use from 16 weeks. Now 37 and still going strong.

I had the same thing with my third pregnancy - started about 16 weeks. I used firm support tights from M&S or boots and just bought bigger sizes to go over the growing bump. I'm normally a medium and was fine with extra large by the end and I had a big bump!
I spoke to my midwife about this and she said that I could get some on prescription from my doctor, I haven't actually managed to get round to it yet but after a particularly tiring leg day I'm getting on it tomorrow! I've no idea if they will only offer me a delightful shade of American tan, but it might be worth investigating?

Hi

I had awful varicose veins during pregnancy. Elevation on a pillow really works as a starter. I went to kings and got given one set of support stockings. I then got a prescription from doctors and he chemist ones were much better (they measured my legs ). They are quite uncomfortable to wear but do work .

Good luck

i also used the pebbles website. Personally i had problems getting the really heavy ones on and found them restricting. Perhaps try a mid weight and see what works for you before investing in muliple pairs of the same weigh. I struggled getting them on so much i definitely would have gone footless if i could go back in time. but yes, i agree with the above comments the right ones will definitely help.

good luck, i feel your pain.

    • They are so good. Fabulous people too. I love the food - AND they are dog friendly. I don't understand why everyone queues at the place next door when this like goldmine is right THERE!
    • I was just saying this to someone the other day, I have a photo of me at my first job in 1995 with an ashtray and 20 B&H on my desk!
    • Just passed by and it does look nice. I'll try to go in soon. In fact, that whole little stretch of Uplands Rd seems to be having a little renaissance.
    • It's like that most of the time.  Like many, I can only use it at certain times due to work hours and the queue is always out of the door, that said it does tend to move pretty quickly.  Think I was in and out in 25 mins last time which I would call a success! Don't mind Sue, think she woke up on the wrong side of the Post Office queue this morning!
