Gyms in dulwich

Apologies if discussed before but what do folks do re: gym (appreciate there are pilates studios, etc.)?

Have any of the chains (pure gym, david lloyds, etc.) previoualy tried to open in HH / Dulwich? Any intel would be appreciated.

I think most people use the Dulwich Leisure Centre or the outdoor gym in Peckham Rye park.

There's a gym at JAGS, Dulwich College and Dulwich Hamlet. There is 'fit for' gym on Lordship Lane and the Leisure centre on Crystal Palace road, and a number of gyms in Peckham and Camberwell.

the southwark gyms- dulwich leisure centre and pekham, camberwell-  are great and there are a number of private gyms as outlined above. There are a few private ones in peckham too gym group I think amongst others

I don't know if any of the cricket or tennis clubs also have little gyms. There are also pilates studios on Melbourne Grove, Blackwater St, North Cross Rd and even the community hall of the church on Calton Ave.

The David Lloyd gym in Orpington is very luxurious and expensive.

I’ve been a member of FitFor on Lordship Lane for years and absolutely love it. The team are always friendly and supportive of my fitness goals. They’ll put together a workout plan with a personal trainer if you need it. You can use their super high-tech e-gym equipment or free weights as you wish. The cardio area is excellent too. There are no issues with overcrowding or ‘meat heads’ hogging the equipment either. I cannot recommend FitFor highly enough. It’s affordable too which is a big bonus. Good luck with your health plan for 2026 !

I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership. 
 

for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers

agree Fit For is far from affordable at least for me.

over 1k PA is a condisiderable outgoingWhen I was seeking a local gym some time ago I enquired there and once I heard how much membership started from I did'nt even bother to look round the gym

You get what you pay for.  It’s an excellent gym, with a great atmosphere and personal care from a knowledgeable and professional staff.  The Sharp family, who own it, are on site all the time providing support and advice and the PTs are excellent.  It’s in a completely different class to a chain gym.  I can’t recommend it highly enough.
