Petanque Tournament this sunday - Battersea Park, free for all!

Recommended Posts

Short notice I know but the nice people at Ricard are putting on a Petanque triples tournament in Battersea Park, this Sunday 13th.

11:30 - 18:00, free entry, just turn up and play.

First prize is Eurostar tickets to Paris.

The only condition is that you must have a team of three.

There will be a Rioard bar there if you wish to sip a refreshing Pastis whilst you play.

There will also be people from the English Petanque Association there if you just want to come down and have a casual game or find out more about the game in London

Can't offer any more info as there is no website but I do have an e flyer which I will try to attach, or if that doesn't work then try to contact [email protected]

Hope to see you there.

Donc moi aussi, Je suis un clodo que bois le Ricard.

Not many of the French tramps I know actually drink Ricard. It's un peut trop cher and they tend to prefer a can or six of Amsterdam beer.

James, I think you should come along. If you don't like the game then we can just hang out in the park, drink Ricard and curse at the general public.

    • Found debit card on Colyton Road - around 5:30pm. PM with your name and the last 4 digits of the card number if you think it might be yours.  Reported to the bank who asked me to shred it. If you are the owner, they'll send a new one in the post
    • Yet to use it for a big parcel, but worth a try!
    • This guy was found running loose on the common, up at the Colyton Road end. He was being quite over zealous with other dogs, causing a bit of mayhem. No collar, we think he might be a pup who's escaped. If he's yours, PM me and I can put you in touch with a kind young couple who got a lead on him and have put shout-outs on the local dog whatsapp groups.  If you are the parents of any of the young lads in school uniform, who were helping me as I tried to stop a fight kicking off between this chap and my dog, please tell your sons thank you. I really thought it was going to get nasty and I didn't get the chance to thank the boys - particularly the blonde one - who were helping me. He was being very brave as I crumbled.    The dog's owner has now been found. But hopefully the parents of the young lads will see this post.
