I haven't been swimming at Dulwich Leisure for years, and since they reopened including a new website, it seems impossible to book a swim.

Has anyone cracked it? I'm not a gym member there, so you'd think their swim timetable was fully viewable, but it isn't. You sort of have to make a guess about exactly which day, time and type of swim, (e.g forcing you to decide whether to click on medium lane 45 or slow lane 60 - madness) before you've even found out if there's any slots generally? And then if you do see a S'pace Available', by the time you click forward, it then always says 'Fully Booked'.

No joke, I've been trying and failing for weeks. If you email Southwark Leisure they don't reply. If you call Dulwich Leisure Centre there's no human to answer the phone (and it says voicemail is full). What the --? Do Southwark want us to be healthy or not? Seems madness to me that we live on Crystal Palace Road yet we have to go to Forest Hill Pools to swim.

If anyone's cracked it please do shout

good luck booking forest Hill, I've been trying to get in a fitness class there (I'm a member) for two weeks and they're all fully booked..I go on the waitlist by the time I've recieved an email to tell me a slot has become available its gone and sessions are all fully booked.

really really depressing.

    • Do they still operate a waitlist for classes? I thought the policy changed and you now have to check repeatedly to see if a space becomes available - not sure how this is an improvement btw!
    • Not quite sure where all these references come from as Tommy Rooney being a great/swift communicator - that couldn't be further from our experience.  Rang him a week ago today/Monday to check that he was able to do Gas Safe inspection/cert' for me.  Emailed him the same morning with all the relevant information, messaged him Friday to check whether he's able to schedule it in, called (x3) and messaged again today - without a single response ..... If he can't or doesn't want the work - it would be much easier for all concerned to just say so.  Really not impressed.  Am gutted our regular Gas Safe guy of many years has retired.
    • Who can afford to smoke. I know someone who buys their tobacco at  duty free prices from a local shop. You can get cheap but fake tobacco from the market shops in Peckham, but these are dangerously detrimental to your health. I have no idea why these shops are allowed to sell such cr*p and get away with it.
    • Shops in stations are catering for people in a hurry who want/need to buy things they haven't had the forethought/time/inclination to buy before they got to the station. Therefore the shops have a captive market,  and I imagine can charge whatever they think said captive market will pay, at least for things which don't have a set price marked on them, like magazines. It is also possible that their overheads like rent are greater in a station, though I have absolutely no idea about that. I'm a bit surprised if M&S are charging more in stations though? I bought a filled baguette at the small M&S upstairs at  London Bridge on Sunday because I didn't have time for breakfast, and it didn't seem any more expensive than I have previously paid at M&S food stores  elsewhere?
