What a pity this hasn't been consulted upon. That junction (of EDG and MG) is gagging for a better crossing, rather than just updating the existing Zebra.

Actually a consultation was carried out, James Barber linked to it on this thread when the subject was discussed before in August.

The consultation closed on 6th September.

My worry is that by focusing on the one zebra crossing it will make the others more dangerous, with cars speeding up moving away from Lordship Lane, already frustrated with having to stop at the other one.The zebra crossing outside the old hospital is already dangerous because of cars not stopping or even speeding up as they approach it.
Apologies if I've missed something in another thread but does anyone know what the outcome of the consultation was? I've noticed that some road works appear to be being undertaken on the section of EDG near Lordship Lane at present. Are these connected?

There was a crash Saturday night on the zebra crossing outside the hospital no pedestrians involved just a driver who lost concentration for a few moments and took out one side of the railings.

I am regularly shocked by some of the antics of drivers on this stretch of the road and have lost count of the amount of times people have not respected the zebra when I've been crossing mainly due to two reasons- speeding and overtaking buses at the stop.

    • Hi Merry Christmas no joy with that Paul Hackett email thanks
    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
