As I was getting breakfast at around 6am, I heard something of a commotion from the direction of Tyrell Road. A male, presumably after a good session on the sauce, was shouting in a style reminiscent of football chanting.

A female pedestrian, who appeared to be the target of the aforementioned chant, responded with 'f*%# off back to River Cottage!'

Putting two and two together, it appears that Gastro-celebs may have chosen East Dulwich as the target for their drunken loutish behaviour.

I hope this is looked into before it gets out of hand.

I heard this from even further away and I reckon all of the above have got it wrong.

The chap was gently and very melodically giving a rendition of Guantanemera, which the lady in question mistook for the football chant 'There's Only One F In Fulham' and loudly directed the singer to "fuck off back to CRAVEN Cottage".

Easy mistake to make.

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
