Hi all,

My husband and I moved our family down to East Dulwich 3 weeks ago from Derbyshire and living on Landells Rd. I'm a stay at home mum and looking for a baby group or similar to go to with Noah who's nearly 1, while his older sister (Jessie 8) and brother (Dylan 6) are at school. I'm just the wrong side of 30, and will go potty if I don't find some people to talk to or grab a coffee with soon.

Anybody know any groups, or have some free time in the week to help me get to know a new area?

Thanks, Hayley

p.s) I realise this sounds a little bit like a lonely hearts ad... I do have friends in London but they work and don't live in ED... I promise you I am not mental(ish).

The one o clock club over on Peckham Rye would be a good place to go for both your little one and you - it's open some mornings and afternoons, have a look here: http://www.ivydale.southwark.sch.uk/childrenscentre_detail.asp?Section=23&Ref=237

There are always people there to chat to, but it's nice and laidback so if you're having one of those days you don't feel any pressure to be sociable!

i think there used to be stay at home mum meet ups organised through the forum too possibly, worth a search maybe.

The Monday afternoon group at the albrighton centre is a good group for that age and attended by lovely mums. The albrighton centre is located on the estate opposite the big sainsburys. Also there are a couple of good drop in music classes which I would recommend too - tippee toes music and bea's baby bop.

I'm also a sahm to a 3 year old girl and a 13 month old boy, if you fancy meeting up at all drop me a line.

    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
    • Real Life was released in 1978. Yes it is a classic album.
    • Another recommendation for Nick. Copying below the review I have just left for him on Google: We don’t usually leave reviews for people online but are making an exception for Nick. He made fitted wardrobes for our loft conversion and did an absolutely fantastic job. The wardrobes are beautiful. Nick is passionate about producing a quality product, and also one that is bespoke to his clients’ needs. He guided us through the design to establish how we would actually use the space and built something that is fantastic. From start to finish the process was quick and each day he and his assistant Sean left the space tidy. I’m not sure we are easy people to please so the fact we are leaving a 5* review (indeed leaving a review at all) speaks volumes about what a great job Nick (and Sean) did. Nick also built a cupboard for our downstairs bathroom as part of the job and again it is brilliant. We would recommend them to anybody.
    • Just had a flatpack IKEA wardrobe put together by the dynamic Father & Son team (Victor & Carl) and over the years they have come to the rescue with their quality workmanship and all round great people to work with. https://www.handymaneastdulwich.co.uk Thank you once again.
